.223 to 300 AAC Case Spin Issues
Tom Freeman replied to cooper8172's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Way too much lube. You need lots of friction to keep the case glued in while the blade chops off the top of the case. I use a really light misting of Hornady One Shot. -
I tried some Bullseye in my 300 under 215 Bergers. Plenty quiet. I got to velocity and then I played with seating depth to tune accuracy. End result was so-so at best. I have gone back to Vhit N-110. Only a touch louder and much more accurate.

question about gold bead front sight options
Tom Freeman replied to Guitarmageddon's topic in Revolver Forum
I didnt like gold beads. They blended in to target brown to my crazy eyeballs. Basic black or maybe red fiber. -
I have had good luck with H4895 in my 6 Grendel/6AR which is basically the same thing.

I have a few Dillons on the bench. 550s and 1100s. My 550 does 45 AutoRim and my 1100 loads all my 38 Special and 357. After switching to a 929, the 38 Special toolhead for my 1050/1100 is lonely.

The centerfire world is just starting to realize that tuners are a thing. Browning tried with the BOSS many years ago, but it was aimed at hunters and not competitive shooters.

Case rim gouging issue.
Tom Freeman replied to B_RAD's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Be sure the notches on the shell plate where the rim goes are clean. Sometimes gunk can build up in there. This will cause the case to be off center as it goes around. -
Area 2 championships allowing revolver again

.035 moon clips and WCC/Win brass is just fine for me.

Go stir the pot elsewhere. Life is too short to be a jackass to a fellow shooter.

223 to 300 BLK RT1500 trim Problems
Tom Freeman replied to Broncos79's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Dont forget to run them through a FL resize die. That will fix any cases that didnt get 100% done in the forming die. My process is tumble clean, run through rollsizer, run through 1050 to deprime/swage/trim to 1.355 then load normally. -
Alternatives to Dillon Trim Dies
Tom Freeman replied to JohnnyD's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I have a couple CH4D trim dies. They work fine. I had bad luck with a Dillon carbide 223 trim die. Tried a second and it still didnt work. Went back to steel, but my Dillon carbide 300 and 308 trim dies are excellent. -
Better to shoot cut down 10mm brass as 40's or just leave it 10mm?
Tom Freeman replied to IHAVEGAS's topic in Revolver Forum
Leave it as 10mm. -

More primer crimp swage will help along with making sure the case is properly positioned in the priming station.

You will shoot 5 stages Saturday and 3 stages on Sunday. Set up will start Friday at daybreak. Match shooting starts at 8:30 both Saturday and Sunday. Paper and steel targets with hit factor scoring because that would have made Eddie Rhodes happy. Recognized divisions will be Tactical, He-Man, Limited and Open. Sean is the Range Master, Justin is the Assist Match Director and I am the Match Director. Charlene will be there to manage stats and maybe try to keep Sean, Justin and I from doing stupid things. https://practiscore.com/colorado-state-tactical-rifle-2021-championship/register Once it fills up you will be waitlisted. When/if a slot comes open you will be contacted directly to see if you still want to shoot.

Look inside that case and see if the priming compound is intact. On mine, it was not meaning it lit off at some point.
