  1. I run a a 125gr Coated LRN at 6.9gr of auto comp to make major power factor with an OAL of 1.15 after reaming the barrel throat lightly. If you can, throating is your best option (finish reamer) and very simple to do yourself. As a second option I ran 115gr Jacketed at 7.6 to make major. No room for bullet set back with a load as short as you want to run though with 125gr.....
  2. Would have had a HUGE grin on my face if his second string went bad and he popped around thru the mag he thru downrange!!!!!!!
  3. Safariland does work, as indicated I and 2'others I shoot with it. It takes a little to get adjusted and some slight modification of the trigger guard blank but not that difficult. Mid south sells the014 for for $130 so if you can't get fitted just right you can pretty much get your $$ back selling it. Pic 1 showing held upside down. Secure!! .
  4. I and three others I squad with use the Safariland 014..
  5. Hydrotac stick on BiFocal lenses. I use one on my dominate eye lense mounted high so I can keep my head down in line with sights. None on my left lens allows for easy target focus
  6. Can you post a pic of one of your shells / primers that failed to ignite and one that did??
  7. I removed my front sight, milled out the center and drilled out for fibre. Or you can see this thread and do it the easy way!! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=185917&hl=%2B929+%2Bsight#entry2369265
  8. You indicate you had a czechmate slide racket already.. Wouldn't the best / quickest plan be to have someone weld up one side of the cut on that then file to a tight fit? I believe the bevel angle is at least the same??
  9. Congrats, I also just picked up a Czechmate.. Now time to develop some loads using Autocomp for me. Do you plan to ream the chamber or just run as is??
  10. There are a few in Vermont. Keep an eye out for here for 2016 schedule.. http://www.gmpsvt.com/calendar.html
  11. Welcome to the Forum. Where are you located?? Our club in Vermont has monthly matches as well as a new shooters clinic that is very well attended in the spring. We also meet with and work with new shooters at each of our matches to be sure they know what is expected in regards to safety. You will find all the information in this forum in regards to what is needed for competition which you will find you can probably compete with what you may already have.. Check out the USPSA rule book online and you'll find a lot of answers to your questions there also..
  12. You may want to add a CZ Czechmate to your list. A full NEW ready to run package with mags will run you ~ $3k and they are finally becoming more available (gun broker). We have several being run in our club and they seem to run very well. They are 9mm Major and come with a spare barrel to run minor limited / 3 gun, etc...
  13. This... I have a dowel mounted vertical in a wood block to stack the clips on. Hold up to a light and anything odd will stand out..
  14. Compare your percentage of 100% of the possible score each week and see if your improving... That is really what matters, right??? That and having fun....
  15. Me also. Just over minor PF w/ 147RN Blue Bullets and N320. Guess I know the reason now.......
  16. Not sure where you are located but I think your best option if you don't want to buy a tumbler is to fill a box and ask if someone at your club would throw it in a tumbler for you and bring back the next match. I'm sure there are plenty who tumble brass with some regularity!!!
  17. Bullet hole only has to touch perf, not break it. I'm not sure why you're getting confused about the non scoring border. Most R.O.'s even C.R.O.'s I have seen score have said it has to break the perf. I will have to remember this rule and tab it in my rule book. Thanks Disturbing to say the least.I'm glad you said that Gary. I was going to suggest those folks need retrained. Hell, scoring targets is RO 101 and RMI's really drive it home in the course. The guy never said that they were certified... For me, I indicated in my follow up that I'm not an RO, just a competitor wanting to know what is correct. I hear, " it didn't break the perf". All the time.....
  18. Indication is .5cm NON scoring from edge. The targets I've measured means at .5cm the perf IS broken.. My confusion is that if that perf must be broken to score wouldn't the others be the same?? Again, the perf would be broken and inner line touched.... Not an R.O., just asking as a competitor.....
  19. So based on the attached target specs, dimensions would indicate you are not scoring unless the perf is actually broken (contact on INSIDE line of perf). Outer ring indicates .5cm non scoring zone around outside edge of target and every spec target I checked tonight brings that measurement to inside line of perf??? Seems confusing to me.....
  20. Know exactly what you mean. I only judge myself against the 2 -3 other revolver shooters in our club. We all squad together so we get to harass each other which helps keeps it fun since I'm new to revolver also (yes, they wip me). Hated at first being the low end of our match results but, I'm with friends, shooting and not at work... How bad can that be???
  21. The way to get around getting conflicting answers is to refer to the rule book.. If you don't have one you can look at soft copy on the USPSA website.... And as stated, they are both legal in Limited as of 2014's update......
  22. Keep it up... You will be surprised how much it will help when you switch back to that limited gun!!!
  23. The load as stated with that pic just doesn't make sense..... I run 3.4gr of N320 in my 929 with 147gr RN Blue bullet @1.14 with no issues at all.. Possible the cylinder was in it of time??? I'm confused.....
  24. Well, decided to go a little further on my 929. Here are shots with the new grip installed and the hammer I just bobbed.. About 6.2# DA pull now!!! Not sure what is next???
