  1. I see you are in SF. In santa clara county, the sheriff will take it. Our county range will take the cases.
  2. In eight years my mags have been gauged three times. Twice at Area 2 and once at a sectional. Am I the only one who values innovation and creative design? Open is all about that as well as pushing limits. Why stifle that with a round count?
  3. Had a similar problem with 7625 years ago. Changed to Silhouette and it has not been an issue.
  4. I prefer to use the real player plug in. Just download the free version and install it and voila....You can download from just about ANY streaming video source.
  5. I use a brush to clean and then run them totally dry. Anything you put inside the tube will attract dirt to some degree.
  6. I tried one for my STI framed open gun and the steel appeared to be softer than the rest. I had to constantly tune the feed lips to keep it running reliably. That was 2+ years ago so I dont know if that has changed.
  7. Do you have a CA drivers license and a cellphone or utility bill that gets delivered to your mothers address? This should be all you need to prove residency. If not there may be another way to do this. I live in san jose and I can refer you to a really good FFL if you need one to finish this transaction. PM me if needed. Larry
  8. It mostly looks like window dressing. The moat and drawbridge didnt appear to add anything to the stage. What am I missing?
  9. Repeated calibration will do little to solve these problems unless the scales used have sufficient basic accuracy and Repeatability. Does yours?
  10. Looks like a really nice sight. Hard to see in the last picture. How far off the slide is the top of that triangle?
  11. Well said. Considering a round a prop is stretching it a bit. How about an unloaded casing which are all over the course after a few shooters. That might level the playing field a bit, huh? Should we be required to sweep up all the brass after every shooter?
  12. Yup. They are behind the 180 but if I were the RO running the stage I would have required them to be farther back from where they were. I tend toward very conservative with this kind of thing.
  13. It is OK as long as the WSB does not forbid it.
  14. If your description is accurate, why did the shooter wait until after the targets were scored before claiming interference? It seems that, from your description, the shooter, after seeing his hits, made a belated claim of interference. David, that is entirely possible but it doesn't make any difference in the call granting the reshoot.
  15. Depends on your expectations. In any industry job I have ever held using a measuring device with a basic error equal to the increments that you are intending to measure is NOT acceptable. Little details like significant digits on the display, basic accuracy, and repeatability may come into play. If any of these things ring a bell or are of interest to you then there are quite a few scales available for not much more than what the reloading mfgs sell that have much better specs. There are some threads here that list some of the others that folks have suggested so do a search. I have used one of the Uniqetek scales for many years now and it has been great. I also have a small Ohaus jewelers scale that I paid $180 for that is of excellent quality as well.
  16. That sucks! Now get out and vote next week.....
  17. The roller coaster at Area2 a few years back comes to mind. I had a smile on my face the rest of the day after shooting that one.
  18. You're welcome to beg to differ with me Always wanted to say that! Anyway, so you also contend that "then" is a required word for a procedure to be done in order, therefore, Statement A. Statement B. Statement C. - I can do them in any order? I'll continue to disagree. Absolutely. All the shooter has to do under the rules is to shoot the stage within the letter of the WSB. Sounds to me like someone at a local match figured out a better way to shoot the stage and those that didn't have sour grapes?
  19. No. Previously discussed - reload must happen after 6 rounds fired, as the course description was defined. The course description above does not have the magic word "then". How do you get that a reload must happen after 6 rounds fired? Then is not required. Plenty of classifiers do not have the word "then" in them. WSB contains a narrative of a procedure, not a task list. This wasn't a classifier. It was simply a short medium course that looked a lot like a classifier. I believe that classifiers have the special attribute that "intent" can be discerned as stated by the introduction to the book. I don't think stages that are not classifiers get that special blessing. I was using classifiers as an example of a very heavily reviewed procedure description, thus those descriptions that are considered as "game proof" as they are - don't have the word "then" in there as a magic word, then the concept of such a magic word doesn't exist. A classifier is another stage in a match - we don't have different rules regarding stage briefings in the match just because one is a classifier and one isn't. They were simply saying that there shouldn't be any mistakes in these stage diagrams and descriptions that allow gaming, but if there are, please don't do it. If USPSA's interpretation of period separated statements is to be taken in order described that's good enough for me. As I said, the procedure is a narrative, not a task list. You don't have the ability to reorder the statements to game a stage. I'd be interested in what another experienced official would consider here. In order to run a match, I've got the rule book and NROI rulings. No where in it does it state that in the WSB statements that don't have then in them can be reordered as long as all the tasks are completed by the end of the COF. I beg to differ and that is indeed a big "if"! I would allow the method without ANY procedurals. The missing "then" if it was present would require that the tasks be done in order. In my opinion without it no procedurals have been earned.
  20. I agree with Grumpy. Listen to the man and your breachface will thank you for it!
