Went through two betas before I went with the CED. The Chrony's are very sensitive to lighting conditions. I shot my first and got frustrated with the second so I splurged on the CED. Worlds better....Never looked back.

With the full complement of holes these can be a nightmare of blast and noise for the RO. I have actually given the clock to others while running folks with these on stages with enclosures that have to be shot from. You will not make friends with one of these

I agree. Using lead bullets I fail to see how it wont undersize the bullets to some degree unless it is doing absolutely nothing.

Lots of us do use them. They need to be maintained like any other part of the gun or they may fail. As to them causing short stroking, there are just about no drop in parts on a 1911 and a buff is not an exception. The function of the gun and a parts influence on it should be understood. As you can see from the archives, this one borders on religion.

Are you asking about the linearity of the loading DATA or the powder burn rate characteristics? Assuming powder burn rate, I would assume it is not and of course it will vary by powder.

You can get just as close with Most Tube scopes and standard mounts as well. AIMPOINT XD and Micro come to mind.

I don't. When you have 18 person squads for a club match and if you have to talk it over with every competitor it will be a long day. If a competitor has questions (other than hand position at the start) I'll direct him to the written course description and ask for the next shooter. Its the competitors responsibility to know what he/she is doing when they come to the line. I as the RO don't want to get into a argument after the stage when he/she has a poor performance and blames it on what I told him. We breed complacency when we crutch lazy people along. At one club I frequent some of the older guys still say, "slide forward" at ULSC or at "Make-Ready" its "if the shooter doesn't have any questions you are clear to take a sight picture with an unloaded weapon and then load and make ready". Not that there's EVER any disagreement about the interpretation of the WSB at the club you are referring to....

Never liked IMR 7625 for 38 supercomp loads. I found it to be borderline overpressure for 172pf loads with 124gr JHPs in all of my guns. I also found that it exhibited unacceptably high lot to lot variability for burn rate. Lots of great powders for super.

I use the MG 124 JHPs exclusively in my 38super open guns. Great Bullets.

When the Bolen setups first came out, the folks using them locally said they were only getting 10-15 cycles out of the springs before they took a set and failed. Is that your experience with them now?

No I prefer not to have popple holes. IMO they only cause you to use more powder, and dirty up your C-More lens. I would agree and I am quite sensitive to the blast of the high velocity gas they vent so its not really an option for me.

I have dome that more than once but never as lucky as yourself. I have always wiped out the chrono. Got a totaled shooting chrony beta housing hanging from the ceiling above my loading bench as a reminder

Did I read that right? If I don't use my real name as my login I am lacking in accountability and integrity? You seem to understand the concept pretty well so I dont think I need to elaborate. My comments were not directed at an individual but at the policy in general. This is not the first time I have voiced it here either and yes hiding behind a persona limits accountability.

It's not about identity theft. Much of the risk of identity theft in general can be mitigated by using common sense in what you post. Other forums that I am on block access to the spiders so that the content is not searchable outside the forum. This is not about that, though. It's about accountability and integrity. These things seem to be in short supply in our society lately.

Best way to deal with condensation is to just allow the drive to sit disconnected and powered off for a few hours in the intended environment before powering it up and using it. As long as you do that you will not have a problem. This is a good idea for ALL electronic devices that are not hermetically sealed.
