  1. I might be interested if it didn't have a manual safety and a magazine disconnect.
  2. Great video, though somehow I missed being in it. I don't remember seeing the camera crew, but some of my squadmates are in the vid. Harvard is an awesome place to shoot. Come join us for USPSA Area 7 and IDPA New England Regionals.
  3. It's all about the bullet profile. Mine won't take 147FPs (precision) longer than 1.125ish IIRC. My notes are at home and I'm at the parents for the holiday weekend. Round noses out to max mag length are fine.
  4. 6-shooter is a category that's recognized for shooters in retro and 6 shot guns in limited.
  5. The revo HHFs are all kinds of messed up. At the same match, I shot it with 1 C in 5.34 in production, for 67.7%, my first B class classifier and my first divisional stage win.
  6. Yup, this happened to me at the Maine state match last year (Won MM and beat all the SS in SSP). I'm still SS in SSP. I came pretty close to EX in the last classifier I shot, but I'm not quite there yet.
  7. So, how did the 930 run at Benning? Any idea when we might see the competition model out of Mossberg? I'm hoping for prototypes at SHOT and shipping by summer, but I don't know how realistic that is.
  8. It depends on what you're getting and their production schedule. Are you in touch with them about it? If you need a contact, send me a PM.
  9. IIRC mine took about 10 weeks from sending the certificate in to showing up at my FFL.
  10. Do you specify muzzle safe points for every stage? How do you adjust for moving shooters? Every club I've shot at specifies that the muzzle safe points are the 180 unless otherwise specified. I've seen it widened slightly for when a target was to be engaged directly to the side of the shooter, and narrowed when putting multiple stages in a bay.
  11. I don't understand the title, how were you almost DQ'd? There's no almost about pointing a gun at the gallery.
  12. You need access to a chrono to make sure your load makes power factor, but once you get it set, you don't really need it until you change lots of powder. If you can borrow a friend's chrono for a week or two to work up a load, you can put off buying one. That's what I did, but now I'm going to start working on loading for 223, so I'm going to buy one. Having your own timer for practice is essential IMO. Steve Anderson's book Refinement and Repetition plus a timer with a part time feature is probably the best practice tool investment you can make.
  13. If you're primarily shooting SSP, I'd go with the 5" 9mm Pro. I don't see much point to shooting all the divisions with one gun. Most of the matches I've attended, SSP is by far the biggest division.
  14. I think the 642/442 is the way to go. 357 out of one of the airlite guns is absolutely punishing to shoot. When I have to pocket carry, I carry a 442 with the Speer Gold dot 135gr 38+P 'short barrel' load.
  15. Which lot of Solo 1000 do you have? It varies quite a bit from lot to lot. 3.7 of the lot I have makes 134PF out of my 5" M&P with a 147gr precision.
  16. I wanted to like the beltfeed, but I couldn't get a clean grab of mag #3. I spent a few weeks dry firing with it, and it just didn't work out. I sent it back for 4 singles. Thankfully, comp-tac is very good about their return policy. You really have nothing to lose but your time to try it.
  17. I think it was on NES What the heck? This was definitely not the thread I meant to post that in. I can't remember now what the subject was, but it definitely wasn't RO classes.
  18. That's a great price for a competition gun ready to rock. Any idea when they'll be available? I'm hoping to have one for the 2011 season. Not sure when my first SG/MG match will be.
  19. Will the 24" non-ported barrels be generally available or only on Benny guns? I'm trying to decide if I want to pick up a 930 if I see a good deal and buy the barrel and possibly have mods done later, or wait until Benny has complete guns for sale.
  20. As long as you can follow the safety rules and and the range commands and bring a positive attitude, you're ready to shoot your first match. I've never heard anyone say, man, I wish I had waited to try this. I hear the opposite regularly.
  21. I've never touched my classification card in the 3 years I've been an IDPA member. I've never seen another shooter's classification card, and I'm an SO at two clubs (including a regional match) and an MD at one of them. I'm pretty sure I'm far from alone.
  22. I run a SJC Titan on my 18" White Oak SPR. Great combo so far, but I'm pretty new at this stuff.
  23. Mossberg had two factory guys shooting at the US Coast Guard Academy 3Gun in CT last weekend. I'm shopping for a 3 gun shotgun and this definitely pushes me toward Mossberg. I like to support companies that support our sport. The fact that they're relatively local doesn't hurt either.
  24. They don't even really get that good fuel economy. I get an honest 37mpg combined in my Honda Fit and I can carry 5 passengers or a ton of stuff. Try going to a multigun match in a fourtwo.
