  1. One of my IDPA clubs shoots year round. The other has a November match and a January match. My home USPSA club had a January match last year also. This is in Massachusetts. Hartford (CT) even had a sanctioned IDPA match last January. If you want a match to shoot, volunteer to be the MD.
  2. 11 cents a round here for 147 precisions with solo 1000 and wolf primers. If I stick with wolf it'll come down a little the next time I buy a case or two of primers.

    Softest Load

I'd keep shooting my production load (147 moly at 900-915fps with Solo 1000). When I was working it up, my gun didn't run lighter loadings that well, and accuracy was actually better at 134PF also.
  4. How's the reliability with the reduced spring?
  5. Probably because they haven't made 2000 of them yet since it just came out. It took a while for the 9mm Pro to get on the list. There's a thread about it on here where Julie G kept people updated as 2000 approached and the paperwork got filed.
  6. I think it's just that people who also shoot Limited like to only have to stock one load.
  7. When you realize that after your one suit, the next few most expensive pieces of clothing you own are TechWear shirts.
  8. I put a bunch of bands I like all in one channel. I get more variety that way.

    IDPA GM class

I mostly look at match results to see how I did relative to shooters I know to gauge how well I did. The class system allows me to do this with shooters I don't know. Does seeing SSP/EX tell me as much about how I should expect to do against someone as seeing Aaron or Jeff N's name on the sheet, no, but it tells me a lot more than just seeing Joe Shooter from out of state. I think classes are a useful way to track your progress as a shooter, but that's all for me. Does a 1st SSP/MM matter to me in the sense of winning the medal, no. But it does matter in the sense of being a step on the road to being competitive for HOA, absolutely. The upshot of all that rambling is I think the class system is useful, but I don't care about it that much. A while ago I definitely thought a GM class was needed, but now I don't really care one way or the other.
  10. You don't need a empty mag to release the striker, if you have long enough fingers. Rules say that the trigger must be pulled on an empty chamber. My gun has a decocker and I still have to pull the trigger to drop the hammer / striker at the end of the stage. You can reach up in the magwell and depress the mag disconnect lever. I used to do it on my M&P compact until I thought about what might happen if a round ended up in the chamber. Then I got a trigger job and had the mag disconnect removed. I think the whole legal thing about a modified gun is way overblown.
  11. I filed complaints with the FTC, FBI, BBB, MA AG, and CA AG. I also had two friends who had a connection to GPAL inquire on my behalf. I'll PM more detail.
  12. I got paid this morning. I applied pressure from a bunch of directions, so I'm not sure which worked. That said, I still think there are shady dealings going on and will be closing my account. My withdrawal was originally requested August 6, and that was delayed 6 weeks because of their microdeposits not showing up until a week after I complained.
  13. Where have you seen that? I've seen just one post on calguns that someone got his money in the month of September.
  14. I used to like them, then I started caring about the match results.
  15. Based on what I've seen at calguns, it's way over 100K, just not to one person. There was a short lived thread attempting to tally up what people were owed and it got up to ~20k before it was deleted.
  16. What's the best way to go about this? I filed a complaint at the IC3 website today. (Along with the CA and MA AGs offices, BBB, and the FTC) Anything I can do to apply some pressure?
  17. I don't think we need more divisions. It would be a fun local match or side match though. One of my IDPA clubs recently ran a small BUG match for regular match staff and had a rifle fun stage with a Garand. I was sad to miss it, the videos looked like fun.
  18. The tough part is finding the right location to shoot from. The pictures I like the best is when you can see the whole shooter and the target they're engaging. I think the trick is to find the points in the stage where you can get the best view of the shooter and just camp there. Trying to chase a shooter through a stage makes it tough to get good compositions.
  19. I avoid Chip McCormicks since I had a 10 rounder that would regularly stovepipe a live round. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, but I don't need the aggravation.
  20. Oh, crap, now I need to start saving.
  21. How do you bomb the stages? Too many misses? Forget targets? Waste time thinking or looking for targets? Something else? Do you currently spend the time waiting to shoot visualizing shooting the stage? If not, that will help a lot.
  22. I was confused at first, because there's a movie with the same title that I didn't think was bad. It wasn't great, but I thought it was decent.
  23. I ran a group buy on another forum back in June, and I'm still waiting on over $800 from GPAL.
  24. There was a big thread about it on the forum here somewhere. I can't remember the subject or I'd try and find it for you.
  25. If you're going to load high volume, get a LnL or a 650 and be done with it. If you shoot more than 50 rounds at a time, a single stage sucks; it takes forever.
