  1. Cool video, and that looks like a really fun match.
  2. For my two IDPA clubs, everyone who SOs and/or is there working the whole setup time. These are both at private clubs where most of the staff are members, and the IDPA club doesn't pay any range fees.
  3. Yup, I shoot a 9Pro in both SSP and production. Sights of choice (in my case burwell rear and dawson fiber front) and the Apex comp kit and it's good to go. I may experiment with some grip tape, but haven't tried that yet.
  4. The problem is, Rob, currently the A7 director, has access to the back end of the website. He wouldn't use that to manipulate the election, but a less scrupulous person would. Avoiding even the appearance of impropriety is important.
  5. Yeah, the KRD 17 is what I had also. It ran great. If he has hammer bite issues, somebody makes a plastic beavertail that's held on by the grip panels. I had no issues so I never got one. I can ask a local shooter where he got his if you need one.
  6. 17 round mags are pretty widely available, so Limited minor is another option. I used a comp-tac holster and pouches when I shot my BHP in IDPA/USPSA. If he's not tied to the BHP, it may be better to trade it for an M&P or Glock and shoot production. If he gets serious about USPSA, he'll buy something else eventually anyway. Does he have trouble racking the slide with the hammer back, or only with it down? If it's with the hammer down, most of the force is to overcome the BHP's rather heavy mainspring. Cocking the hammer first makes the slide much easier to rack. Does the gun have a magazine disconnect? Those are a annoying at unload and show clear.
  7. Yeah, retention shooting for accuracy is stupid. I threw a 7 with the first retention shot, which was half of my points down on the stage.
  8. Winning all but 2 stages with 3 other GMs in the mix is very impressive. Nice shooting Ben!
  9. L10 bounces between 5 and 10% here. Single stack is the same. Revo is even less. Production is 30-40, Open and limited around 20.
  10. Thought I made some progress today with a 52%, but I had already shot diamond cutter with a 67% last fall.
  11. Meaning full specs and price announced or actually on the shelves in gun stores?
  12. Yes, and the gun (M&P 9Pro) felt better too.
  13. Yeah, you'll need good luck to find the older followers. I've been looking and can't find any. The new ones really suck in the 10 round cripplemags.
  14. The single book I got the most out of so far is Saul Kirsch's _Thinking Practical Shooting_. Other good ones are Brian's book, Steve Anderson's dry fire book, and _With Winning in Mind_.
  15. Jimzim is correct. Massachusetts guns have always had the larger one.
  16. I found data here of 3.2 for a 133pf load with 147gr precision bullets. I had to go to 3.7 with the lot I have.
  17. The problem happens most notably in IDPA on low/no light stages.
  18. You'll need to post a hair over 75% in your next classifier to move up. The thing that gets you is that your 46 will have to count. If your next two are both over 61%, you'll get there.
  19. 0.53%. Once you're classified, it's the best 6 of your most recent 8 unique classifiers. If you need help with the math, PM me your USPSA number and I'll drop it in my spreadsheet and let you know what you need to shoot on your next classifier to make it.
  20. Argh, shot 06-01 Big Barricade yesterday and put a Mike/No shoot on T3. For some reason I really suck at that target presentation. This was an ever annoying 37%, high enough to count, but low enough to suck. I get one more shot to make it with a 71% or better, then I lose a 59 off the bottom. Time to get back to regular dry fire.
  21. Club dependent. We don't do double runs at IDPA/USPSA around here that I've seen, but it's very common at steel challenge matches. I've seen both two guns in together, and a second match after the first one is complete for the 2nd guns. I think the latter is preferable as it doesn't hold up the single gun guys and you don't have to switch back and forth at each stage. The important thing is to re-balance the squads if they vary a lot when the 1 round guys leave.
  22. I started loading with Wolf when it was all I could get. Unless I double/triple stroked the seating religiously, I'd get a 2-3/100 failure rate in a stock M&P. When I got a case of federals to try a few weeks ago, I thought 'OHH this is what seating a primer is supposed to feel like'. Only shot one match with them so far, but ~200 were perfect in my comp AEK M&P. I've only used the small pistol. A friend of mine has burned ~30,000 small rifle in his registered FNC (full auto 5.56) without problems.
  23. The your gun sucks and your caliber sucks too parts are the writing of Marko Kloos. He's also the author of 'Why the Gun is Civilization', which often gets attributed to the non-existent Major Caudill. 24. Hehe, I almost bought the one Carmoney is selling on here.
