  1. trench coat go flasher style
  2. I have found the lotion works better than the spray. I usually apply it if needed when im on deck
  3. Why not get a bladetech for the 34 without the retention. For the budget, they do make a 5.11 bladetech which is injection molded and not kydex for about half the price and its 34 specific.
  4. They make 6inch as well so no need to cut the bottom off a 5 inch. My 6 inch is sitting in a holster that is a 6 inch
  5. Jager. or glockworx (jager is in all mine) Avoid the titanium strikers and go for the lightened steel. titanium isnt the best for a striker/fp
  6. For a target gun its too light at under 7 pounds. That is basically a field gun thats carried alot and shot a little. On a target gun, its carried very little and shot alot. For that weight is your friend. For upgrading later, that would be a hard sell with those 28 inch barrels. On any of the used guns, make sure to check for wear. The way to do that is look at the top latch. It should be positioned right of center. If it is at center, it is going to need some work soon. IF left of center it needs some work ASAP. Outside wear can be tricky sometimes as a gun that was carried alot but rarely may look like it was used more than a competition gun that had the heck shot out of it which may look immaculate.
  7. What sigh cut do the Wilson Combat pistols use for the front and rear. Looking to replace the old ones beieve they were the night eyes that wilson hand and can't find what cut they use.
  8. On skeet, the swing is extremely important and smooth is what is gonna break the targets. On 12 ga it is a little more forgiving but it you ever get really hooked the 410 is unforgiving. Right now 30 inch is the "norm" for skeet, your will see the occasional 28, 0r 32 and the Extremely rare 26. Weight is your friend in skeet and the 10-11 pound gun is the norm. You will see alot of guys in skeet shooting trap stocks on the skeet guns and setting them up for a 60/40 pattern. When I Shot skeet, I shot the 32 inch barrels and then the now discontinued 34 inch sporting barrels(had to get them choed since they did not come with factory chokes) with the tube set and a lead weight between the barrels. In other words, a very heavy gun. Had no problem moving it and could just crush 3, 4 5 doubles so it was easy to move. The balance usually is a personal thing. The beretta, perazzi and kolar guns tend to have a more neutral balance with he kolar feeling like the beretta and perazzi just heavier but a similar balance. The Brownings and Krieghoffs tend to have a more nose heavy feel to them. I liked the weight in the front as I felt it kept the swing smoother and wasnt hard to start or move if your shooting with your lower body(which helps keep the swing smooth) and not your arms. Good video to watch of that is todd bender shooting. Very pronounced lower body shooter(does lean WAY out when he shoots). Good thing abojt Jaquas is they use to at least let you try out the used guns on the trap field to see what works for you.
  9. Its not so much the stages should be watered down as they should have a little safety margin built in ie not requiring shots directly on the 180 that are avaliable no where else. If the shooter wants to shoot it to their advatage and go for a 180 shot then more power to them but allow it to be shot without getting right on the line elsewhere as well. The stage shouldnt be designed where the shooter is going through the whole stage paranoid about breaking the 180 every which way they go. There are ways to make a stage fun and challenging without trapping the shooter.
  10. For Skeet/Trap if you want a good break gun for the bucks I would look at the beretta or browning used. I would look at the 30-32 inch range. A 28inch woulndt be awful but avoid the 26s as they loose value fast. Buying used they typically hold value pretty well. Jaquas in OH has a 425 32 inch sporting gun for 1400 right now. Throw on an adj comb and your good to go.
  11. Im not a fan of the targets where they must be shot right on the 180. To many other ways to draw it up with a little more room for error. Also not a fan of the stages where you are constantly forced to go in and out of areas and constantly backing up at angles etc. Shooter is responsible for the muzzle but stages need to be designed to help aid in muzzle control.
  12. I believe dan is what might be seen in your rear view lol
  13. For a game rifle i dont see much use. Loosing them can save 50bucks on a larue mout
  14. On the larue mount, the Lt104 can be ordered without the QD latches for 50 bucks less. Its called the VFZ mount and is 145 over the 195 of the qd
  15. If you just want foam, craft store ie hobby lobby sells adhesive backed 2mm thick sheets 8x10 sheets for like 50 cents, cut, peel and stick
  16. Blonde or Brunette? Only way to really know is look and see what works best for you and your eyes
  17. I agree what is your budget? I would say build it yourself if your looking to replace alot of stuff on the factory gun anyway
  18. It will just slide in. A stubby screwdriver, large pin punch works to hold it down. I usually just get it started in the hole, push the spring down then slide it the rest of the way in
  19. All are approximately the same price. Roughly 60 bucks
  20. I lucked into mine. Got some out of a buddys duty mags when he was planning on upgrading springs and followers in his mags. I took his scraps. The 6 follower has a slimmer back than the 8s. It also has a number 6 on it up where the slide stop is. The arredondo base pads are a touch longer. There was a post on here a while back about them not fitting the gauge due to the checkering on the bottom. Let me check my spare parts bin. If I can find a couple extra 8s I can modify them give them a test and send them to ya to see it that helps. If you know someone with a glock a few years old you could always offer an upgrade to the newer followers lol. The new ones work great in factory mags just not so well with the base pads.
  21. I am the same. I cant shoot with my prescription lenses. If I try I have no sight picture at all
  22. From about round 16 on try hitting the bottom of the mag on your palm after you load one to help settle the rounds some. You can also check inside the tube for flashing. A mag loader helps also
  23. off the back or off the side of the back as well. I pretty much round the heck out of the bottom corner on the back. Just remember its not about shortening it its about butting a radius on it. If you can locate some 6 followers, I would try those.
  24. Usualy the last couple rounds are tight when new but I could always get them in with a lula. When you beveled the back of the 8, did you just radius the back part down or did you radius the sides at the bottom as well. I have never had a problem getting a full 20 in any of my mags. I have never tried a 9 though. On the 8s all of them needed "tuned" and I got it down to about 4 min a mag. If you can scrounge up some #6 followers, give those a try. The are slimmer in the back than the 8s and I have had them drop in and fit perfect to a 20rounder with no tuning required. I managed to score some for free that were upgraded to newer followers
  25. What follower were you using?
