  1. Thats correct on the Kimber's. The Series 1 guns are much better made than the new ones
  2. I have done it ONCE on a side stage like 3 years ago. Max 2 shots in the gun. Used a cheapshell belt with 2 skip one 2 skip one etc. Shoot the 2 left hand goes for the shells together, right hand hits the lever to drop the barrels ejecting the shells. Stuff the 2 in and close on the way up
  3. I have had good luck with the double star kits. Comes with everything but the stripped lower. The upper requires some special tools to assemble if you piece it together. The lower is simple to assemble with common tools. Just watch putting the rear trigger guard in so you dont snap an ear off. You MUST support the back side or use a vice grip or c clamp to tighten the pin in
  4. +1 on the ruger not being that heavy for a skeet gun. Mine weighted close to like 11.75 pounds when I shot a ton. Easy way to miss is keeping the gun too high on high one and low 7 then shooting right over the top of them because the target comes out under the barrel and kind of out of your view. I always kept the gun a little lower then floated it up to the target. Worked very well especially in the wind when the targets are being pushed down. If I could trade a touch more gun movement for a better view of the targets in all weather conditions I considered it a good trade. Another way to stay smooth and really move the gun well no matter the weight is don't use your arms to swing the gun. Lock your upper body in place. Lean into the gun and move it with your lower body. Your upper body should stay locked in place. The lower body should move the gun and upper body like a tank turent. Good example of this is go on you tube and watch videos of Todd Bender shooting. Very good example of a pure lower body shooter.
  5. There is a difference in a start box and shooting box. The shooting box is no different than thefault lines on a regular freestyle COF. I would go a per shot penalty
  6. The Rescomp tubes just are not as robust as the STI tubes and are more subject to getting damaged when dropped all the time. Just use the STIs setup as the regular mag and build a rescomp that is only used when it will make a difference. Most stages can be done just fine with a 20 rounder or even a 19 rounder. The 22/23 round stages that are basically a hose fest are where that skipped reload can make a difference
  7. +1 on sending it to Rose action Sports and letting him cut it down. It will be done correctly, isnt that expensive and well worth it to have chokes.
  8. Just don't put yourself in the situation where your tempted to over do it. If you have the tendency to go to town at buffets etc then make it a point to avoid them. Just because the company pays doesn't mean you need to go to town and use every dime they allow. If eveningout for drinks is what gets you and you don't have the will power when out, just decline the invite and avoid the situation. Its much easier to stay on track when you avoid the tempting situations. Did the low carb thing here and mine was always stopping somewhere for something to eat when out on the road which usually was fast food and super high in carbs. It got hard after working a 10-12 hour shift without a lunch break to pass up the "good food" till I got home especially when breakfast was maby eggs in the morning or a bar and a bar for lunch. Once you get in the pattern it becomes second nature
  9. I like the Blackrain ordnance latches
  10. never seen one that would not allow a full stock with pistol grip. Pistol grip only maby. 30 inch is fine. For skeet a 26inch hasnt been the "norm" for probibally 20 years. Most now use a 30, with occasional 32 or 28. A 26(or shorter) and a 34is pretty rare
  11. No longer at EKU since I graduated there. Typically I work early morings out of the house early and home late since we are so short handed at wok. 70 hours is pretty average these days and pulled 91 hours last week. Hoping it slows down more in the "slow season" to get back to the gym more.
  12. Have aGateway netbook here that I have used for a couple years. Mine the 8.9 inch screen which you can't find anymore. I use mine for work since I am in the car a ton and it just works great for that.
  13. Down 55 so far here. Exercise is off and on depending on work schdule which has included a ton of OT recently. Work out of the vehicle about 98 percent of the time so for a long time was basically fast food or nothing. As of recent, been making due on the meal replacement bars till dinner.
  14. Its for an STI that was tritopped. Offered from dawson as a FO only
  15. Any Ideas on what to use to fill in and blacken the front FO sight hole. Decided I shoot better with a black sight and this one only comes in the FO
  16. The Softness is why alot of people stray away from the rescomp tubes for their "everyday" mags. A good 20 rounder that works and is tough is the way to go for the majority of the shooting. Save the 22 rounders for when it matters
  17. Always liked the std A2 or A1 stock. Cheap, solid and works
  18. We had one at a local match that was intended to be shot on one side of the barrier, run around the barrier and step on an activator to activate 2 targets(which you could see from the first area unactivated. We had the cleaver idea on the squad to nail them stationary, run straigt out of bounce and back in on the other side(avoiding the treck around the barrier) and hit the activator coming back in.
  19. I had the slide done on mine and Love the way it feels. Mine was a factory 6 inch gun. If I decide I want more weight Ill add the tungsten guide rod. For me the 6inch slide had too much mass going back and forth especially in the nose and whipped around more. I shot a 5 inch factory gun to see the difference and it wasnt as bad.
  20. It is production legal if you stipple according to the diagram in the rule book so pretty much grip only un underside of trigger guard, side of fram for the thumb etc. For SSP not allowed
  21. eagle can be had in a bushing or bull barrel
  22. Those I have seen need the mag tube wiped clean but that is about it. It takes approximately a min to do so. They just point pretty well for most shooters and the felt recoil is less than alot of other guns. I have seen other guns to be far more picky with ammo than the 1100. Had a couple that will shoot down to a 7/8 oz load. I don't see many of the benelli guns doing that The low price point also makes it less money out to see if you like the game sport etc. Same reason you see alot of people starting USPSA with a glock, MP, basic SS etc to see how they like it and get their feet wet and see where they want to go from there. You down see many walking out and popping down the 4k for a custom built open gun and several hundred for the mags to go with it to see if they like it.
  23. I would love to see it changed to a non mandatory reshoot if the shooter chooses to shoot it till it falls they should be able to do so.
  24. Not unauthorized gun handeling once the Make ready has been given
