  1. I like the PWS shimms over a peel or crush washer
  2. Who makes a deep rear sight for the bomar cut. I have the factory sight on both the Eagle and Spartan and the sight picture is so much better on the spartan due to the sight being deeper. I found I shoot the deeper notch best, the little wider but not as deep notch second best and the narrow short notch like the STI sight has worst. Looking for a rear that is quite a bit deeper than the factory sti one as the spartans is noticeably deeper.
  3. I would say you will have alot not even bother shooting at it. I know I would pop one round in the general area to "engage it". 2MOA at 400 and sub 2 at 500 is pushing what alot of rifles used are gonna do without a rest. I know personally I would have zero chance of hitting it at 500 so why waste the time to get the hit. Ill take the penalty and use the half second to lob one in the vacinity of it
  4. Personally I would waste zero rounds on it regardless of the points. My chances of hitting it are basically nill so not worth it to me to waste time or ammo on something Im not gonna hit
  5. It dosent do much for recoil reduction. The big ways to reduce the felt recoil are better recoil pad, heavier gun or lighter ammo.
  6. +1 on the local store. My brother just went there and they checked the foot out there and got the one that worked best for him. Hard to do that over the internet.
  7. My parents had one like that in the building they had when were were in college. Just refused to leave and know how long they are good to go for before they can be thrown out. It was a college town too so alot just never paid the last months rent since "we paid the first and last months rent when we moved in". It was specifically stated that the deposit was not the last months rent it was to cover damage to the apt both in the lease and several times verbally when they moved in. We have gotten some apartments back literally trashed. Some girl locked her key out and instead of calling to have the door unlocked(both my brother and I lived there and had a set of keys for that very reason) kicked the door in. It was "repaired" with glue and was worse than before they tried to fix it. Mess up the paint? spray paint at walmart all over the place is close enough. We had one mother pissed because her son had his electric shut of in the dead of winter and threatened to sue. Im sorry, the tenent pays their own electric(or dosent pay in her sons case). We just had it setup where we are notified and it gets shut off by the power company and doesnt get put back in our name(which they learned after it happened once)
  8. Mine was the factory eagle with front and rear sighs in it. Not sure what the breakdown was as I had the tri-top, highpower cut to remove the serrations, and the gills done as well as the cobalt finish. He can give you a breakdown based on what you want but I will say it was very reasonable.
  9. Mainly because the 2011 is a much more expensive gun to begin with than a glock. A box stock 2011 runs about a grand more than a glock does. There is also much more fitting and work involved in the 2011/1911 guns.
  10. Thats the one Bobby did for me in Want2Races link. Came out flawless
  11. Mine uses the 5inch springs. For the springs, shooters connection has the ISMI springs which are top notch. I would try either a 14 pound or 12.5 pound and see what feels best for you. I run a 12.5pound recoil and 17pound main in mine. Mine was a factory 6inch at I had the slide tritopped, and lightened by Bobby at Freedom. The springs depend on how you like the gun to feel but with that gun most go 12.5 or 14
  12. The cross over is the way to go for moving side to side when shooting and if done right the gun wont be bouncing around
  13. Ya they are central. Know under the Benning the SBR is good to go and from KY so no problem. Was mainly checking if there were any club restrictions as some do not allow NFA Items
  14. They tend to feed better in the 2011/1911 mags.
  15. Run a 10.5 inch with the std 9 inch rain on it and never had a problem with it. For the compensator, I run the PWS TTO. For the shorty, it dosent work bad(its no titan though) but isnt near as loud as alot of the breaks would be especially on a shorty. It is a touch shorter than an A2 flash hider so it looks right on the gun.
  16. One of Mine has the extreme engineering sear and light speed hammer. For the disconnecter my smith liked to use the egw ball disconnecter. My other gun is the same with the light speed 2 hammer.
  17. Let them sit loaded for a bit. it is hard but reloadable when new. after use it becomes easier
  18. To keep the trigger safety working, there is only so much you can remove and it is very minimal to be production legal
  19. Small size doesnt always mean a super light gun is needed. When I shot Skeet VERY heavy, I shot with some extremely good female shooters who were not big at all. They were not shooting light guns at all. One in paticular was about 5'7 and maby 125 and was swinging a 10+ pound tubed O/U no problem. The balance can make a big difference. Super light stock makes the barrels feel that much heavier. Heavier stock, with it balancing at the receiver or a little nose heavy and the weight is much less of an issue. Even with a heavy gun, swinging the gun is not an issue. Your arms are not what swings the shotgun. Your arms just support the gun. A aggressive stance, locking the arms and swinging the gun at the waist will yield much better results than trying to manhandle the gun. For a very good example of this watch the clips of todd bender shooting as that is a perfect example of a lower body shooter. By shooting lower body, the weight of the gun is not noticed and the swing is much smoother since your not jerking it with the arms. 9-10 pound guns are not uncommon for females at all and alot of the guys are running in the 11-12 pound + range
  20. I really don't see many of the tier ones getting sold. The big selling point is the glock price point. The gun might look kinda neet with the cuts but thats about it. For the price, you still have to pay extra if you want better than factory sights. It also comes with no magwell on a limited gun(not production legal). With warren sights, the 35 is 2580 and the 24 is 2800(dont see where to add sights on this one). Throw in a magwell and your in the 2650 and 2870 range. That is not only in the STI range, that is in the custom built STI range. If you decide to sell it ever, a custom built 2011 will still get you some money out of it. That gun, I doubt you could get much over a grand for. In the end it is still a glock.
  21. I use the springs that come with the dawsons. If you have new mags coming, the followers will need to be midified a little with a file/sandpaper. takes very little time and dawson has a video for it. http://shootersconnectionstore.com/Dawson-Base-pad-Glock-wSpring-P700.aspx
  22. I like the dawsons over the arredondo since it is a tooless remove. There have been posts on here before about the arredondo not fitting the gauge. Tried all 3 big names and for me would rank them dawson first, Arredondo second(tool needed to remove and pushing the gauge more), and taylor last(needs allen wrench to remove back plate to get the extention off.
  23. Dawson, base pad and spring. I can get 20 reloadable in all mine. If your followe is a 6 follower it will usually work from the get go. If it is not, you probibally need to tune the follower with a bevel which takes like 5 min
  24. Never shot one but for the money, you can get a nice 2011 limited gun. I would get the STI over the glock at that price
