  1. It can accumulate crud in the gas tube of the gun. Simple fix is every couple hundred fire a couple 223 rounds to clean it out and fire a couple at the end of a session also
  2. I say vote with the feet. They set what safety rules they view as adequate for their "sport". Not all shooting sports have even close to the same rules. Mainly look at the shotgun sports if you wanna see a BIG difference. No safe area, guns assembled typically in the clubhouse or at the car{large match). No unload and show clear after each time you leave simply shoot, unload and walk off the pad( no one verifying), no chamber flag requirement, guns carried broken down at verying angles and semis locked back, no DQ for an AD(watch a trap match especially with someone shooting a release trigger that has to break the gun open after the trigger has been set), ATA also has a rule for handicapp where you can have a difference of 1 yard side by side on a squad and 2 yards total so someone on the line could be shooting 3 feet in front of you on your right and 3 feet behind you on the left. Like wise, go to the club there and bring up some of our rules and they will think they are unsafe, loading the gun up with more shots than you need, moving with the loaded gun etc. Not promiting unsafe acts but as an "outlaw" match they set what they feel are safe for them. If their comfort level and your comfort level are not the same voting with your feet is the way to go. If enough feel the same way then they will change or go away. Its just like outlaw 3 gun matches which require a slung long gun. Of someone is uncomfortable with that they simply avoid that match and go to a match where that is not required
  3. Trigger pull is about 4.5 pounds if its the commercial glock. My blue lable came with the 5.5 pound which was fine since I was swapping it out. I went with the Glocktrigger trigger and it was very good. Added the Jager lightened striker and it became even better. Never a problem setting off the primers with that gun
  4. Actor themed world work too. Different stage for a different movie. Voting for Eastwood. "get off my lawn"
  5. What kind of 22 are you mounting it on? The Allchin mounts keep it lower than mounting it on a rail if they make one for your gun
  6. Easier to just buy the extended chokes if you need to change one. Most are only using 1 or 2 chokes total
  7. I prefer the bead over the ghostring and rifle sights anyday. Shot one so much I am use to it. The rifle and ghost rings tend to get in the way for me more.
  8. +1 "Crab walk" from drumline is a great way to shoot and or load a shotgun moving right to left especially
  9. The main spring is the one that deals with the lighter strikes. An extended FP can help with that also. Dawson precision makes an extended Firing pin that I run in my 9mm that I got from shooters connection. I also run a mclean extended in my 40 cal. CCI primers(which are harder to set off), along with the std FP and a light spring just add up. I would go with the extended FP and possibly switch to federal primers(first choice) or winchester(2nd choice)
  10. If you need the pinky extention on a 26/27 the larger 19/23 is the way to go. If carried IWB the barrel isnt an issue
  11. If its getting run over as oppose to baseball batted, a good piece of concrete pipe in the ground oh about oil pah high is a nice touch
  12. Eliminate the PF and you have ALOT of guns obsolete overnight. Eliminate the pf and the 40 cal is obsolete for limited. On the same level as a 9mm im going 9mm with the extra rounds over a 40 with less.
  13. My logic was if I am seeing the bird im a going to be a little bit under the bird to get a view of the bird. I did not want to put 50% of the pattern low when I am alaredy a little under the bird to get a good view of the bird. With it shooting the 60/40-70/30 range, if I see the bird clearly I know Im a little under it so my pattern would be best suited a little high
  14. My company had the bright idea of scheduling more than we have man hours for then decide to take what very few days off we have to clean it up. I think its gonna come back to bite the hard when they get alot of junk turned in after working huge stretches with no time off.
  15. Run the extreme engineering hammer and sear and EGW ball disconnector in mine per gunsmiths recomendation
  16. Yes, because its good insurance that I will never use it. The day I leave it at home will be the day I need it.
  17. I wish my company would know when to turn work down.
  18. If you get that setup you would need the press, buldge buster and factory Crimp Die(you will remove parts from this), preferably the carbide. The container the buldge buster comes in is the collection bin it just goes on top of the press. Lube isnt needed with the carbide but I would use a little one shot as it makes it MUCH easier even with carbide dies
  19. Ended up going with the Dawson Big magwell. Like the Ice replaceable insert and the Cameron wasnt in stock. Gun feels night and day different than it use to for the better. Now maby I will be able to shoot it as well as the SS or glock since it never did quite feel right. It feels pretty much like the SS arched MSH and all
  20. Bullet weight depends on how you like the gun to feel. The 115s are going to have some snap to them. The 147s are soft and feel like a push. The 124/125 grain are going to have a little snap but not like the 115s. I run the 124s in mine just because its a good compromise for both guns I shoot. In the glock the 147s feel great. In the 1911, they feel very sluggish. The 124s feel great in the 1911 and good in the glock as well
  21. Does anyone know of a magwell where there is no magwell touching the bottom of the palm. I run an arched MSH and with the Ice and it just dosent feel right as the magwell catches the palm almost. With no magwell, the gun feels great like my single stacks. with the magwell, it just dosen't feel right. If need be i'll just run it without the magwell but a little extra insurance on the reload is never a bad thing especially for me
  22. Have one of the spartans myself. Added a dawson Fo front(like the slimmer front), techwell xt magwell, and had W2R do a trigger job on it. Extremely reliable with the tripp mags as well as the 9round springfield mags. I have about what a box stock trojan costs in a gun with alot of upgrades
  23. Thats why you dont get stuff fixed on a weekend. Even with the ac, its not that hard to wait a day for the weekday. I agree with you on the OT for the weekend. Holiday yes but if your in a service job, you shouldn't expect it to be M-F and bill extra for the weekend
