  1. Dont confuse alot of the Kydex with injection molded. Kydex is what the more expensive holsters are made of and comes in sheets and is molded to fit the gun etc. For the race holsters ie Cr-speed it is simply volume. Molds are not cheap. That cost has to be spread over the production run. Those holsters are a pretty limited nitch market so the price is accordingly
  2. That sounds as fair and simple as any I've heard. Just would definately need the top end shooters in all divisions like he said to make it fair. good shooters in most divisions then one "superstar" ie taren, jerry, horner etc and it can really alter the results if say they get 100 percent then other good but not super shooters are sitting aound 85-90 percent. Shooter in the other division has a good shooter at the top who would have been competative with all the other 85-90 percenters in the other group. By him winning, his division all the other shooters are closer to that 100 percent
  3. I like the random draw tables myself especially on matches shot over multiple days. In order of finish, if you don't shoot the last day you either stay around for your prize or pretty much give it up unless you have someone pick for you. If it is one where say division winner gets a certain prize that makes it a little better as its set, if you win this is what you get no matter what day you are there. Cash prizes or other set prizes for the winner, drawing for everyone else. At the KY state you pull your prize as you go through the stages. It is nice because the sponsors prizes give eveyone an equal chance to get something worth while and get the sponsor's name out there which is really why they give the prizes. Been on both ends of the spectrum in different shooting sports. Uspsa im sitting in C and am pretty much middle of the pack on the 3gun matches. When I shot Skeet I was a competative AAA across the board and was in the running for the HOA and gun champs on a very regular basis. Bigger question is how do the sponsors feel the stuff they gave away should be distributed?

    Spring cups

My front sight is red loctite so it is pretty much stuck there. A carry gun is also nice to scrap for parts if you need them in a pitch

    Spring cups

I would say extras of all the springs, and an extra striker. I typically put a lightened striker in the gun and have a complete set(with the factory striker) ready to go
  6. It is the trigger safety. If you dont trim it and remove the pretravel, with just the screw the safety does not work. VERY little can be removed with the factory bar unmodified and the screw.
  7. I never liked the stock on them. I like the traditional stock but thats just me
  8. most cleaver one I saw was the gun was on a table. Back of chair touching table, hands on knees. did not say back much be touching back of chair simply stated touching back of chair. Intent was to go around chair grab gun and shoot. Straddling the chair ac slater style satisifed all parts of the start position
  9. 1. Favors 1 gun(usually pistol)way more than the other guns 2. Too many targets that disappear but are not disappearing targets ie if your not quick on them you loose serious time just on those misses at 5 seconds per miss (10 on clays) a couple disappearing clays can be a big factor. 3. Stages that push the border of asking for something unsafe to happen. Had a stage here a few months ago that was 18 shotgun rounds so basically 9 to slidelock, reload it up and another 9. Last shot of the shotgun was a popper that activated a quick disappearing target that rolled. It was basically go 9, then 9 (hope your gun was only a 9 round gun and had no misses or you counted perfect) and shoot the last round and throw the gun in the barrel (no time to engage safety so that last shot had better have stuck it to slidelock)to have even a chance at getting the target 4. No water on hot days especially at larger matches. Water coolers or bottles arent that expensive and make for a much nicer match. 5. Make the match a shooting match, not a track meet with a gun. Ie dont have huge stretches to travel with nothing to do on the way.
  10. At that distance, I would say there were other issues than the shooter's shot size.
  11. Those are like real big CD's correct lol
  12. I would put the sight you have on it and shoot it and see where it hits. Then use the sight height formula dawson has and determine the exact size to order for you
  13. What was his logic in wanting to do the 2 holster approach. That would just place the mags even farther back and grabbing your first mag would feel like grabbing your 3rd or 4th.
  14. It would put you in open. For slugs, I think It could be a help as its easier to sight in. For me at least it would be a slower thing for shot as I come from a shotgun background and am just more comfortable with the cheekweld and bead
  15. I would go with the glocktriggers.com trigger. Jeff does a great drop in trigger. Just be sure to order to challenger or the vogel if your shooting production or ssp with this gun. That trigger will put the std trigger to shame and makes a night and day difference.
  16. It really depends on how heigh of a chair you get to determine the bench height. You actually have a little more space than I do as I am around 45 inches on the bench. Mine had to be made to fit into a certain area of an apt. Bigger would be nice but Im not hurting for space. I have a dillon and a Single stage I use for the push through sizing on occasion. The dillon stayes mounted. The single stage has the holes drilled and washers/bolts in the holes when its not actually needed
  17. Had mine hit like that as well. 18yo backed up and cut the wheel of his car too quick and ran it down the back of my car. As I start to get out of the car he burned it right out of the parking lot. Did manage to track the little sob down (managed to obtain his license plate number) since the polices response was file a report and turn it into your insurance as a hit and run.
  18. Well talked with extreme engineering this morning, very surprised it broke. Are shipping a new replacement to me asap
  19. Has anyone tried or have any ideas on modifying the DOH so the bottom sits away from the leg more and keeps the gun straight as opposed to right at the leg. Was thinking something similar to the part of the ghost holster
  20. No sign of it touching. It went out on me the second to last stage of a charity match. Have to old factory trigger parts that work but the thumb safety no longer works on that set. Note to self, have the smith fit a new thumb safety to the old parts when I replace the hammer to have a complete "drop in" trigger that works. Ended up finishing the last stage with a borrowed glock as the other 2 locals(both with Minor SS guns) had alaredy left.
  21. +1 on the versalite gun racks. The problem with foam/cloth etc cases is it can become a breeding ground for rust. A plate rack from walmart also works well
  22. So my hammer decided to break near the end of the match today totally tanking the last stage where it "let go" Here is the pictures of the hammer as it broke in 2 places. Not sure of exact round count on the part but Im guessing a confident sub 2k rounds. No clue why it would have broke like that.
  23. I saw the casing of that round if it was the TN match lol
