  1. Would be very hard and violent to try and make major with
  2. The cost of the "high capacity mags/tubes" shouldn't be an issue. The Nordic tube costs the same regardless of the length of the tube. the 40 round mags are just a couple bucks higher than the 30 rounders and even the mag extensions for the Pmags are not that expensive. We shouldn't limit out equipment based on what the new shooter may have laying around the house that he can use to get started. Where would you draw the line. No compensators and only GI triggers on the AR because that's what the guy pulling his box stock DPMS he has 700 bucks in out to try a match. This is like any sport it can be cheap to get into or it can be quite costly to get into. It shouldn't be limited for what the new shooter may have laying around
  3. Going to 8round minor would basically make the current 625 obsolete overnight as with 8roujd neutral stages the elimination if the standing reload will more than make up for minor scoring. Revolver will never be a vibrant division and is basically done by the same group of diehard guys. Making their equipment obsolete will not help the division
  4. Government profile is nice. .750 in front of gas block .675 behind. Mine starred out as a hbar that adco reprofiled
  5. Run a 20 inch government profile as a hbar in 20 in seems way too heavy
  6. 1911 9mm with short trigger and if you need to add thin grips for a very slim package. With a 9pound recoil spring the gun shoots very soft and flat as it has a little weight on it but not bad at all. The sti spartan can be had for cheap and mine runs great. And I had the money to get it ready to run with magwell trigger job and a new front sight (personal preference) for less than a trojan
  7. I am using 4.1 of titegroup with a Montana gold 124 CMJ at 1.155 and am getting 132 out of my 1911 and 136 out of my glock. I would guess yours would be a decent amount higher as your only loading to 1.1 which seems very short.
  8. The "close goes in the shooters favor" doesn't go in EVERY shooter's favor. If you give a hit that was close but not quite there to the shooter who shot it that helps him but hurts every other shooter as he has a score he didn't earn.
  9. Ya you need a slow powder for major. Let me know when ya go to the club I can let You try some of my 9mm glock open loads
  10. You are unable to use a similar gun in production as the 2011 is a single action only gun and none are in the production list. You can shoot limited with an eagle or get a 1911 and shoot single stack
  11. I woudnt use green if you want it to come off. Red or blue on the set screw and call it a day if you want it on and off. It really does not need to be removed as you can move the barrel down and clean it from the chamber end still with the barrel and comp in the gun. The other compensator manufactures recommend it not be removed all the time to clean. I would also look at upgrading the comp to something like the Jager comp which works with the barrel you have. and works much more efficient than the lone wolf comp
  12. A gen 4 with a srd recoil spring would be a winner. I like the mag release and texture on the gen 4. The rest I could do without
  13. With the brass in the glasses I say give a reshoot as its a safety issue. If I have a piece of brass by my eye I am clearing it as quick as possible as a burn on the eye is not a good thing. If it involves the glasses being dislodged they get dislodged.
  14. Keep checking on Montana gold bullets as they come available pretty often. For a major PF gun I would go with the 124 CMJ or JHP for the shorter glock OAL. http://montanagoldbullet.com/index.php/ For powder check out Hodgdon HS6 or Winchestrer Autocomp as they both work well for major. I use Autocomp in my glock loads and HS6 for the STI My Glock load is a Montana Gold 124 grain CMJ at 1.16 OAL with 7 grains of Autocomp. I am getting approximately 173-174 PF out of this load consistently depending on the primer used. I have used SPP as well as SRP and while the SPP is a little flatter it is not too bad. I would Avoid the lead bullets and FMJ bullets as they will cause leading of the comp. I would also avoid plated as the plating may not hold up to Major velocity as most recommend sub 1250 FPS for plated
  15. Never seen a local where the RO just RO's and dosent shoot. The RO is just the person on the squad doing the RO ing.
  16. I would personally rather have someone who knows the rules run the timer over someone who dosent. Just because someone is a certified ro dosent mean they always know the rules.
  17. Skip the ruger mount with a railway in top and get this http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Allchin-C-more-Scope-Mount-10-22-P1451.aspx
  18. Correct, with a dot there really is no sight radius as the sight is a dot
  19. It should be round unless you have an eye issue which can make it not round ie astigmatism. Also, Are you sure it is a genuine Cmore as a lot of clones are marked as such with markings and all
  20. Ya up to match director but never seen one have a problem with it
  21. +1 on the ALS I have one for my Glock 34 that I love. It has the hood also but is not really needed as the ALS is a positive retention. I wish they would make one for the 6inch 2011 though. I do have a Gcode holster with the hood ordered for the 6inch sti as I would like to try it out and run that for 3 gun as I shoot it a little better than my glock. With the retention, I have never worried about loosing my pistol.
