  1. Just got home from a visit to Jim's place where I picked up a rifle purchased here on the forum. I'd never owned/shot an AR before today, so I got some basic instruction from Jim, then we went out in the back yard and took some bench shots to 200, 300, and 400 yds. On the paper/gong's with the optics right out of the box. Then Jim says try this one, and it turns out to be the first production Firebird! Set up for Open. It just WOULDN'T miss . He'll be building a Tactical Optics version for me after IonBond makes it match my Diamond Black STI Open pistol. Jim and family had an awesome day yesterday (Team Lambert takes Gold), and today he made my day.
  2. From Google Earth, entry is at W32 39.518 N98 48.002, if that helps you.Your directions will get you close. Range will be on the left.
  3. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,408301,00.html Presumably a different Nemo....
  4. If you're on squads 1-18 you'll have to deal with sunrise into your face over the back berm twice. In 2006 the sun came up right over a shoot above a no shoot target, so I indexed just above the white I could make out to hit the tan I couldn't see. USSA is the only place I've seen the berms facing southeast.
  5. Can you add Classic targets to the inventory?
  6. STI Eagle 6.0 Open gun with Schuemann Tribrid bbl. Clean after every shooting day, regardless of round count; at the end of each day for a multi-day match. It works for me.
  7. The most significant element for me is "...upon coming in contact with any peace officer of this state, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed firearm pursuant to a valid concealed carry weapons permit or license issued in another state." Home state has no similar requirement.
  8. Searched and found metric targets and poppers, but nothing for classic targets. Double Alpha Academey has 60% scale from his store in the Netherlands, but shipping to US is prohibitive
  9. Grams Engineering fitted my Docter sight down into an STI Eagle 6.0 slide. Check with Beven (Forum Dealer).
  10. I plugged the stage descriptions into my copy of EZWin and it says 377, so you'll want 378.
  11. On my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab I had a Pace Edwards roll-top tonneau (think of the cover on a roll top desk). I believe it was aluminum ribs covered on vinyl that rolled int a canister just behind the cab, lockable to the side rails when closed. http://www.tonneau-covers-online.com/rolltop.html Also had color matched spray bed liner and replaced the tailgate latch with lockable unit.
  12. I started Limited with a Colt 1991-A1 before there was an L-10 division, went to Para P14-45 Ltd. to get to more than 10 rounds and reduce the number of reloads. Your G34 can play in Limited without the round count limits of Production (17+1?), but will still be scored minor. .40/10mm is the minimum caliber for Limited Major. I now shoot STI Eagle 6.0 in open and can change top ends for Limited/L-10. I have a G35, but haven't used it in competition because of the grip/trigger differences. I have shot a Para LDA in Production, but need something other than my XS carry sights for precision shots.
  13. The reshoots are for other divisions than your match entry declared division.
  14. Bold ends with show up, sign up, pay up. Beyond that, if i don't KNOW I CAN'T, and risk<= reward, I'll try. That's a subjective judgement. I've been wrong before, and will be again, but it's good to stretch your boundaries.
  15. Master DatabaseFrom the EZWin Help topic "masternames.db" topic: The master database file name is masternames.db and is found in the same directory as the EzWinScore program files. This directory is chosen during the program installation. With versions of EzWinScore prior to Windows Vista, the default location was C:\Program Files\USPSA\EzWinScore. However, because of complications introduced by Microsoft with programs installed in Program Files, EzWinScore version 3.00 and later will be installed in a default directory of C:\USPSA\EzWinScore. USPSA does not recommend installing EzWinScore in the Program Files directory of Windows Vista unless you are prepared to turn off Windows User Account Control and “folder virtualization.” These new "features" will prevent you from replacing your masternames database if installed in Program Files. You should be able to copy the masternames file from the regular scoring computer to yours, in the appropriate directory per the above, to populate it.
  16. Under SETUP, once you have opened a match file you have to register competitors and define stages before you can enter scores. Competitors can be selected from the master database or entered manually (that will also add them to the master database).
  17. Southern hemisphere reversal of direction?
  18. Thanks for bringing awareness to this definition Flex. At this year's High Desert Classic my stage had an uprange start. I wouldn't start anyone who showed only one ear and one shoulder when I stood directly in front of the start box. I asked that the shooter square up to me so that I could at least see both ears and both shoulders (from the front!). Stricter standards to be applied henceforth.
  19. It looks like the paper would be more open if engaged from the outside toward the center. As an aging C Open shooter, I would load and engage the left steel (L>R) while moving to the left, then turn and engage the left paper as I move right, then go hard for the right steel (R>L) and finish on the right paper moving back toward the center as necessary.
  20. Covered in Burkett video, Vol 2, if it is available to you - ask to borrow at your next match if needed. Basically strong hand thumb contacts grip safety and middle finger contacts front of trigger guard to lift gun from table, then rotate from horizontal to vertical and establish your grip. Fingertips may come into contact with the tabletop, but the hand is not putting any downward pressure on the gun. Fingers of support hand can also slip in under the slide to lift it away from the table.
  21. There is "Crossover and Roll" thread from dirtypool40: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...mp;hl=crossover that sounds quite similar - maybe a different name for the same technique.
  22. Stages won't be posted, per email response from Tom Freeman when I asked yesterday.
  23. Generally, that refers to participation in a national match.
  24. I opened the PURCHASE INFORMATION link at the ZM Weapons website and it gives the Para mailing address.
