  1. I see all kinds of oddities on the streets of Santa Fe, but I NEVER looked that closely at another guy's pants.
  2. I am using a laser bore sighter (SiteLite) in the same manner that I use it (successfully) to set up my 1911/2011 Limited and Open guns. Even with the rear sight all the way up, the top of the blade is more than halfway down the front sight before the laser appears on top of the front sight. Seems a shorter front sight, possibly with fiber optic would be the simplest solution if I need to change sights.
  3. I have a 625-4 Model of 1989 5" that has reached the extreme of elevation adjust, but needs to go a little further to put POI on top of front blade. Rear blade is at max height, and had popped out of threads. Looking for suggestions.
  4. When I saw that "dillon" had posted... hmmm, there might be something to this. But NOOOO, comic books instead
  5. I have Garmin - the Mobile 20 that uses my Palm Treo Smartphone as the display, and the GPS 18 that feeds a laptop on the passenger seat. It's fun when the ladies don't agree on how to get to my destination.
  6. Tried this, it works - found some errors in names and terms (A, TY, FY), but fortunately no name/number mismatches from the past weekend's match.
  7. I believe maineshootah's recommendation is based on the volume of ammunition you want to make, not the calibers you have chosen. So if .45 were the high volume ammo, then you would set the 650 up for that and use the SDB for the low volume ammo. I now have two 550's with case feeder, one for large primer (.45) and the other for small primer (.38Super).

    New Job

Welcome to the high desert country. Matches in Albuquerque 1st and 3rd Sat year round, and Los Alamos 2nd Sat Apr-Nov.
  9. Please elaborate... Since I also was on that route, IIRC there was a pair of cameras facing one another, very soon after the posted speed change. I would expect one was for the rear, since not all states require front plates (including NM), and the other was on the windshield. Hoping nothing appears in my mailbox.
  10. Maybe it's just my OCD, but I tumble, then deprime. Follow that with a light pass with a deburring tool that does a better job of detecting case mouth cracks than my old eyes. At that point intial QC is done and they are batched for loading.
  11. A profound statement on our nature. Not at all what the anti's want to believe!
  12. Our matches are scored at the range, but scores are not posted until everything is put away. We usually have more stages than squads, so I'll go to one of the empty bays and tear down when I'v shot my last stage of the day, so it's ready for the trailer when it comes around.
  13. It appears they are just providing a product to meet a poorly thought out requirement.
  14. I don't have any direct experience, but please remember to ask the potential sponsors what your event can do to promote their business in return supporting you. Examples: provide vendor space, distribute literature in registration packet, display banners on stage and elsewhere, mention in prematch advertising/announcements, etc. Don't limit yourself to shooting related sponsors -consider local restaurants and other business that competitors may patronize while participating.
  15. FWIW, with the now current 2008 USPSA rules, the command to start the COF is now simply "Make Ready". Those are the words the shooter needs to hear before he starts handling his gun to prepare for the stage.
  16. Points will be round count x 5 (Alpha point value), so with now 23 rounds, it becomes 115 points. Can specify feet crossed at ankles, or use some of the earlier suggestions. If seated it would be safer to start with gun positioned on barrels, your choice as stage designer of loaded or unloaded start. Watch for/eliminate passthru from T1-T3 array into T4-T7 array. Not sure about the 8 round restriction, since there are 9 rounds from one side of the barricade or other.
  17. My GMAT ordeal was about 35 years ago, no formal prep - passing score for Farleigh-Dickinson, finished MBA at Pitt.
  18. I recently had a wrestling match with the packaging for MS Office 2007 . I still don't know how it eventually opened. There are no clues on the package. At least with the beer the pull tab is pretty self explanatory. Guess you get to practice weak hand beer opening.
  19. It's not a good thing that the RO allowed hmself to be distracted, especially with a new shooter on the line. Just my $.02.
  20. I can't speak to humidity issues, being located in the high desert.. I reload in my garage year-round, and keep supplies there as well. An oil-filled electric radiator style heater warms the area when I'm working in there in the cold months. No climate issues with the two 550B's.
  21. Last year at Area 8 one of the limited shooters on our squad saw a gauge on the table at a stage and said 'What's that?' Suddenly he found himself in Open as the CRO demonstrated the gauge on one of the shooter's magazines.
