  1. Chill out Martin, the drawings never match the stages actually anyway. Yeah yeah yeah..............round count, crazy starts you know all the little things
  2. Not correct, Howard. Dean Makkos and myself are the official sole importers to the USA, and SPS is held by contract to not sell direct to USA shooters. Anyone can contact SPS to verify this. Just a question........I can't seem to find tubes of any kind on your web site.......can you point me in the right direction if I were in the market to buy SPS tubes..... Scratch that......Found them on Docterusa............. Thanks Martin
  3. Joe.....what is your OAL? Do you have any barrel porting?
  4. I have played with LongShot also and am very pleased with the performance it has given me. LongShot is a funny powder though it definitely likes some room in the case. I had to take my OAL out to 1.25 to get a consistent load. MG 121 gr IFP Starline brass Winchester SRP OAL 1.25 8.3 grains LongShot 1400 fps Brazos Pro SX (Runs a little slower in 1390's) IMM Open with 4 holes 1400fps To me it shoots like a cross between 4756 (without the erratic dot movement) and 3N38. A pretty soft shooting load with very little, predictable dot movement.

This is all great and all but generally a .11-.18 in a match is actually pretty darn good. Even just playing around I can't get under a .09 .07-.08 for more than 2 shots.......way to go M class Martin I hear ya Martin... it's like well good for you, but what's the point? It just started as a string under .08 or more correctly I said I've had several splits at .06 and under .09. Barely B Jim Dude you da man with those kinda splits............just pissed I can't do it ..................Ha ha ha ha ha ha

OK I forgot to define cold.......I just do what I normally would when I shot any stage........turn on dot.... a couple draws.....play with my mags……mentally get ready. The speed issue for this is really deceiving……….when you reach for it……it seems you always miss it………….I found that 1.7-1.8 or better on this is more than adequate. I think the real goal is being able to truly see this and repeat that awareness level on demand at a match. Just my 2 Martin

OK Bill Drill 10 yards.....forgot to move the target in. Open gun 1.68 Cold 1.39 Best What I noticed in this drill is you can actually become to tense and over extend your draw slowing everything down.... first shot and splits. The best was being relaxed and actually thinking the gun was too close to my face :-)....my draw first shot went to high .7's low.8's and splits were in the .11-.14 range. Martin

  11. I have been using 115's for steel matches but have talked to some shooters that are using lighter bullet weights.....95gr. Is anyone else using this light of a bullet and where do you get them from ?? Thanks Martin
  12. Rich, The way ant hill did the 99 area 6 was crap. I was there and it caused so much irratation amongst the shooters it was rediculous. Also that match was not a area level match( others opinions ) That was one of the reasons the area 6 was moved a year early. As for the guys with the videotape at NC sectional, I was shooting sat. afternoon and they ventured up on our stage about half way thru it. The videod a couple of guys shooting and the waited until we were thru with the stage. As soon as our last shooter had been scored and the stage taped they asked if they could go onto the stage. The RO said no problem, they were courteous to us and everyone around, they laugh and kidded with each other all afternoon and got in no ones way of shootingg. I knwo most of these guys and they are not top end shooters, they compete against themselves for bragging rights and to see who buys the beer.( what the sport is about, to promote shooting and commradery) They shot the next morning and they once again wer in good spirits, I dont know that any 1 of them burnt down the match or even placed for that matter. At the end of the match they all packed up, shook hands, told everyone that they had a good time and that it was a good match and left. I worked most of the match doing various things and other than 2 dq's( neither was intentional but rules are rules) The match ran well. We had some of the better shooters lost to the 3-gun nationals but thems the breaks. Overall I was satisfied with the way the match ran and the staff of the match handled problems as we had some of the ro staff get sick before the match and not be able to attend. This led to some double duty for others but everyone stepped up and made it happen. Martin I take offense to that "all the big shooters where gone" remark.......I was there !! Martin G
