  1. I see several worthy comments above... 1) This thread is worthless without pics 2) Is she hot 3) Learn how to operate the timer for yourself Number 1 is a requirement, number 2 is subjective, and number 3 is a must.
  2. I only practice at 25 yards. That is all I am able to do at my local club because the firing line is fixed. I'd love to be able to practice at all 4 ranges.
  3. I agree with all the above. From crushed primers to failure to ignite due to inadequate seating. S&B and Amerc are nothing but trouble.
  4. I managed to win my class in SSR even though I tanked stage 4 and had a light strike to boot, but got clobbered in CDP with no malfunctions (mental or mechanical). Maybe I didn't practice enough with ol' slabsides. Gary
  5. 30 out of over 2000 is pretty damn good imho.
  6. I have heard these words in my mind at every match since Steve V said them to me 2 years ago.
  7. I saw what happened to steel1212 on the "other forum". I've been scolded by mods there too. It sucks.
  8. I shoot cast, moly, plated and jacketed in the same barrel and haven't had any issues.
  9. That's a real bummer! I hope the shooter doesn't give up because of this. I agree with HSMITH, if the barrel is bulged, don't bother trying to get the slugs out. Just replace it and go on. Gary
  10. I mailed a letter from Fort Worth to Houston on Monday and it's STILL NOT THERE.
  11. I've also been following the thread on the other forum mentioned by the OP. I want to know if the Colorado club mentioned in that thread shot the postal match without concealment.
  12. I have the UnderCover brand tonneau conver on my F150 and it's great! 4 years, no leaks, no problems. http://www.autoanything.com/tonneau-covers...over|1177528808

    SNL skit

    gave me the heebie jeebies.
  14. The older 625's bring quite a premium, at least around here. Every once in a while I will see one for around $600 but usually over $700. A pre-lock 625 is very hard to come by lately.
  15. Luckily, your finger was out of the trigger gaurd, right where it should've been when moving. Noway you slipped on the mag as it looks like it's still in the air. It sucks to be DQ'd but you went home without any extra orifices in yourself, or anyone else. That's what matters.
  16. Thanks folks.. It was fun, no doubt about it. Next month seems soooooo far away..
  17. I've been shooting IDPA for a couple years and recently started shooting Steel Challenge type matches but today I shot a local USPSA Match. Boy, it was a little different. On the first stage, I learned that there's penalty called "failure to engage". Whoops... The 2nd stage went a little better and I put holes in all the targets that were supposed to have them and none in those that weren't. It felt strange dropping mags with ammo in them and reloading on the move in the open with a round in the chamber, definitely will take time to get used to that operation. Stage 3, I found out that, unlike IDPA, each hit on a no-shoot is a seperate penalty and shoot throughs don't count. Stage 4, no penalties, but was told that I took too much time getting a better sight picture than I needed for that particular COF. My accuracy (other than the NS) was pretty good all day. Mostly A hits. But, definitely need to go faster. I shot a 45acp 1911 in SS division. It was fun and I learned quite a bit in just 4 stages. All the other shooters where very helpful with questions about rules and such. Next month I'll hopefully be more relaxed and speed things up a bit. Gary
  18. Ouch, yep, been there. I was shoting an 18 round IDPA stage and when I went for my 2nd reload, whoooooooops... NO MAG in the 2nd pouch. Dug barney mag out of my pocket to finish the stage. Never again.
  19. Scuse me while I whip this out
  20. Holy moly! That's great stuff. I'm going to have to figure out how to come shoot with you guys and make it look like a business trip.
  21. Yeah, me too but I really sucked pond water on this match. Please, wait til you see my SSR score.
