Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Many of us have lost someone we love dearly. I can somewhat grasp the feeling of aloneness and how time (to me anyway) seems to be the only thing that makes it easier. My wife of 22 years is my closest friend and the thought of losing her or one of my children is almost unbearable. I am truly sorry for the loses suffered and am much grateful for the info provided. May God bless and comfort you. Howard
  2. Thanks toolguy, I am familiar with frame size and internals as I do action work on my own stuff. Not high class, but I have changed out hammers and triggers so am familiar anyway. I have only one N frame and have never seen a floating hand. I wandered what made it so. I have a chance to get a 625-3 and from the search option, have learned it may or may not have the floating hand. So to change it out requires no reaming or other specialized tooling, is that correct sir? Know you didn't sign up to teach, but your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Howard
  3. Can someone explain what a floating hand is as is on model 625-2 and -3's? Is is a hinderance or should it be of a concern?
  4. When I lived in Missouri, I always wondered what people from Iowa did for fun! Kind of wish I still didn't know.
  5. Thanks, very nice smart looking piece with an equally smart looking price I see. Afraid that's a little steep for me. Unless I can hustle up some more money, I'm afraid that $600 or so is about it.
  6. And to think, I complain just because I'm a little recoil sensitive.!
  7. Thanks for the info. Believe these are the exotic, read ouch when you shoot it, lightweight type aren't they? I have, unfortunately, became recoil sensitive as I have matured. Arthritis and such I guess. I don't have any of the ultralite type guns at all, just uncomfortable after putting a few cylinders downrange. I do like the new nightguard, but again, it is probably on the light side for much shooting. I have even loaded down and still feel it after a bit. I am just not as tough as I used to be!
  8. Whizz, will assume this gun does not have the lock. How does the action feel from the factory? I have picked up some new J and K frames that I could use for an exercise device. Just curious.
  9. Thanks all for your responses. If they would bring it back, I would hope they would offer 3, 4 and 5" barrels. I would practically kill for a 3" to balance out my J & K frame CCW collection.
  10. Was at a local gun show today and found a 625-2. Thought I would try to pick it up to go with my 625-6. Turned the tag over; $879.00. Maybe a misprint so asked him his best price, $800.00 he says. Am I dreaming or have these things gone up this much since I got mine a year or so ago?
  11. Thank you gentlemen. Seems I read that the 25 would not shoot cast bullets as well as the 625. Have either of you experienced this?
  12. Given the choice between a model 25-2 or a new 625 which would you pick? Will be able to join a club that shoots ICORE this spring so was wondering where to put my money. I was shooting a k-38 and a 9MM glock in production where I used to live, but would like to move up to major wheel gun. I will shoot both jacketed and cast bullets. Thanks, Howard
  13. Haras, Where is the club, directions? I am new to the Hattiesburg area and don't know where any clubs are. When do y'all normally have your shoots? Thanks, Howard
  14. good going Imashooter2. I remember one of my early six shooter matches. Only two revo shooters, myself (56 yrs. old mod 10 shooter) and a young lady shooting a mod 625, a teenager I do believe. She beat me. I do understand the meaning of being humble in defeat. I could blame it on my trifocals or using a speed loader or shooting minor, but in the end I have to blame it on just plain being outclassed. Oh well, practice, practice, practice.
  15. Way to go! Am always on the look out for any mention of "visually challenged" shooting. Sent you a PM, if you have a free moment please check it out. Howard
