  1. See, Mike! I am not as nuts as you thought. It's actually fun. Gary
  2. It just occured to me that the box his rolex came in would probably sell for more $ on ebay than I paid for the plastic Luminox dive watch that I've been wearing for 4 years.
  3. I'm using it in my G34. With the stock barrel, I can see a difference in accuracy. With a KKM barrel, I cannot see any improvement with the MGSL vs. the factory part. It seems to have a more dramatic effect on shorter guns. I had a G27 that shot 4" groups at 10 yards. Installing the MGSL took it down under 2". I got similar results with a G29 and G23. It's a nice machined steel part. It also makes the gun easier to disassemble because it's slightly extended. Gary
  4. It's getting to the point that some folks, especially minimum wagers and part timers, are going to be spending more on gasoline to go to work than they're making. Fort Worth PD just arrested some folks for stealing gasoline from convenience stores when they were closed. Somehow the thieves got the pumps to run without paying and pumped hundreds of gallons.
  5. I sent email through the website several days ago and have not gotten a response. Can someone pm me a # to call Apex? Thanks, Gary
  6. Childish/immature behavior cannot be tolerated during a match. Safety is always the primary concern and anything that distracts attention should result in a warning followed by a DQ if it continues. My .02 Gary`
  7. 100% positive report. Two thumbs up from me.
  8. I have 2 625-3's. One has the floating hand, the other does not. Both have hammer mounted firing pins. Both run 100% and fire all 45acp cartrdges, regardless of primer brand and with or without moonclips. Sure, the triggers could be slicker, lighter, etc. But they're good enough for me. Gary
  9. Don't worry, the feeling will pass.
  10. Here, Gary... I put this together just for you. Gary
  11. Yesterday I was on Rhonda's squad at DPC. After her 2nd or 3rd run on stage 1, I over heard one of the other shooters say; "what is that thing she's shooting? I can feel every shot in my breakfast". Gary Oh yeah, and that was Roy H. RO'ing and begging for mercy in the video.
  12. I use a lot of the 158gr LRN from Bear Creek. I started out using Unique and it was OK, up to 4.5grs but at 4.7, it leaded the bore BAD. I switched to 3.6grs of Bullseye and there's practicaly zero smoke, no leading and it's as accurate as anything I've shot. PF = 128 out of my 4" 686. Gary
  13. I get mine with butterfinger. MMMmmmmMMM MMMM!! Most of the DQ's near me have shut down and turned into burger box's. The nearest DQ is 20 minutes away. When a blizzard is unobtainable, Blue Bell's Moolenium Crunch is a good fix. Gary
  14. The 625 is a great gun. I have a 4" and a 3" and both run great. Of course, you'll want to fix it up a little if you get a box stock one. Action job, chamfer the charge holes, etc. Have you shot a 625? Maybe a local shooter would let you use his/hers in a match before you spend the $. I can't imagine you not wanting one after shooting anyway, though. Gary
  15. Thanks, Chuck. I just sent an email through the website.
  16. I would love to make master in SSR by getting bumped at a match. That would mean a lot more to me than doing it in a classifier. Unfortunately, I have yet to shoot a sanctioned match where there were enough SSR shooters for a bump to even be possible. Gary
  17. The Apex pin is heat treated 17-4 ph stainless. Randy told me he has only one failure in all he has sold. I have them in both of my match guns and the one gun has probably a min of 2000 rounds. I do use snaps when I dry fire (which is not enough). I think Randy sells his for under $15 and you get a new spring and a free bag of Apex mojo. What do the C&S cost?? The C&S is $11.50 from Brownells. $9.20 if you're a vendor. Where can I get an Apex FP to try? Gary
  18. Rounds that fail in my Wilson 9mm gauge will pass in my EGW gauge about half the time. The Wilson gauge is very tight. I've never had a round that passed the wilson gauge cause a malfunction.
  19. Interesting.... The one in my 686 has gone over 5k rounds so far but the one I put in my 627 broke after about 500. Of course, I am guilty of dry firing without snap caps or dummy rounds, which I'm told WILL cause it to break. Some folks say it's not required but I like that extra little bit of push and believe it can make the difference in bang or click if the primer is not quite seated. Gary
  20. Thanks for the replies fella's. I tried the "staple trick" as described in the aboved linked thread and it works great!! It took a couple of tries to get the perfect length on the staple but it worked like a charm. Reloading with excessive agression wouldn't even budge the yoke out of place. Thanks! Gary
