  1. The silver sharpie markers work great for numbering mags. I had one I found that was causing an intermittent feed issue.

    M&P Pro

If the sear or springs are our of spec, I would expect you will get the M&P back with replaced parts. You may want to swap stock parts back into your M&P before shipping.

    M&P 9

    She sounds like a keeper
  4. Trim your brass.. if you did that,,, trim it more. Jim M ammo +1 I had this issue with a CMMG. The culprit each time was brass that exceeded 1.760 length. I now trim all 223 for that weapon at 1.755 and the problem is solved.

  6. I believe the Dillon is only for 223 or 308 brass, not sure if there is a way to make it work for pistol - thinking that some of the ingenious members here may have already. (of course I could be wrong about everything, and usually am - especially if you listen to the little woman). Super swage comes with rods to swage rifle and pistol rounds. I have swaged several milcrimp 9mm and 45ACP using the super swage.
  7. If you send it in to S&W for a rebarrel expect to pay around $250 to have the barrel switched out.
  8. The book "The Winning Mind" suggests you yawn before starting a stage. Your body will physiologically relax even if the yawn is forced.
  9. ... to know where the shot went at the moment it fired. be Recently I shot an IDPA match with a new gun that I was not used to. I noticed that shots made, (when not paying attention to the sight) gave me a psychological uneasiness, because I did not know if the shot hit the 0 zone on the target. When reviewing the video my split times were very slow and there was a lot of hesitation in transitions. In matches since, still using the new gun, I have been focusing intently on the front sight and doing great. One thing I learned from this was: I was so used to my old gun, I knew the NPOA very well and was doing a lot of shooting without paying attention to the sights. By switching weapons, I have had to break this habit, and am now shooting much better than before. I am both quicker and smoother, because I know if the sight was on target when the shot broke, the bullet hit. I don't have to second guess (i.e. hesitate).
  10. I can't tell if you're being serious or not. I was being serious but now I'm 2nd guessing myself. I would ASSUME that ORM-D would work since this is how you ship ammo but I am assuming. I better quit thread drifting and I'll ask someone more knowledgable than me. He isn't shipping it anyway. He is just saying he's adding the shipping that he paid. Sorry for the thread drift Steve. When in doubt Googling the works quite well. From USPS.gov: 34 Mailability by Hazard Class 341.21 Nonmailable Explosives Nonmailable explosives found in the mailstream must be immediately reported in accordance with POM 139.117. UPS (United Parcel) on the other hand DOES allow shipping of ammunition under the DOT ORM-D classification, However Primers are classified under Division 1.4S: Title 49 CFR states in Chapter 1, section 173.63 the packaging exceptions to full regulation. 11. The decap sleeve may have gotton cadi-wampus and taking it apart and putting it together fixed the issue.
  12. These are pretty common, I have received 3-4 over the past 10 years. If you nail them let us know, we can all celebrate having to shred one less thing.
  13. Check the decap pin--There is a case mouth expander on the Dillon decap pin. I bet it is bent a little or cracked and thus expanding the mouth too much at the decap stage.
  14. The XD series pistols are classified as single action, and thus are considered ESP in IDPA. You will not be able to shoot one as SSP.
  15. If you live in TX you only have to appear for in state issues. For out of state issues it has to be at the Federal level for them to compel you to appear.
  16. +1 to that ... Maybe the ammunition accountability people could refocus their efforts and become the cigarette butt accountability people. As for the ashtrays in cars. There are no trash cans in cars either but I remember to toss my coke cans in the trash at home instead of out the window. I think the overall problem is most smokers perceive tossing a butt on the ground the same as spitting your gum on the ground. They dont consider it litter.
  17. I heard the pirate said "Arrrr أخوي. لك مني" Unless it was the pirate that formerly lived in Michigan that went back to Somolia... then it was what you said.
  18. You just have to know the right time to call. Try between 11:30 and 1:30 PST or after 3:30 PST.
  19. Situations like this are the reason IDPA matches take so long. I shot one recently where every stage and every malfunction and misstep was discussed in detail. This sometimes makes IDPA frustrating, the biggest key is to do the easiest thing one can do to improve their score: "Learn the rulebook, inside and out"
  20. +1 to that ... I have seen people pick up ammo off the range and put it with their practice ammo. My rule is never, shoot OPR (Other peoples reloads) or Ammo of unknown origin.
  21. I used a heat gun to modify the bottom of my Std M&P holster to make it a slide style holster to fit the M&P Pro. Just work slowly and use low heat.
  22. I had a real funny squib recently from putting the polish in after the cases. It seems a blob of polish got in the bottom of a case. It decaped and loaded just fine, but when I fired it the bullet went poof and then reddish smoke came out of the receiver (burning polish). My gun looked like a smoke bomb for about 10 seconds.
  23. They could have been any brand. Here are some popular ones: SigTac (discontinued) 5.11 Tactical Woolrich
  24. I use a Redding Taper Crimp die. It is set tight enough to keep the bullets from walking out of the brass when firing the revolver.
  25. This is a good way to say goodbye to some fingers... The material in a primer is very impact sensitive, one slip and you get a face full of anvil and finger parts.
