  1. I applied, but am still waiting to here back. So that is half a yes
  2. Today I saw one of my XD shooting buddies, and I confirmed the Pistolgear XD slam pads DO fit a compact S&W base pad. It is darn near an exact fit, the holes even line up for mag disassembly.
  3. One can replace the basepads on the stock magazine, however the pistol, (with magazine installed) must fit the IDPA box AND the basepad can not be a weighted base pad (i.e. basepad under 1 oz). Robert Ray also made a clarification last year, that basepads can be changed out for the SSP division as long as the pads are plastic or aluminum and do not add more than 1oz. to the stock magazine.
  4. If you really run into issues try putting the die in the freezer for an hour or two ... this will sometimes loosen the stuck shell up from expansion/contraction.
  5. I have seen some Glock magwells that are built this way. It is a real PITA to get the mag in place when it bangs off the bottom of the polymer magwell.
  6. The Dillon dies are made so the decapping pin can be a stuck case remover. However you run a chance of destroying the carbide ball on the decap pin if it is really stuck. That one will cost you $16... ask how I know Now I use a straight punch about 5" long to knock the case out.
  7. After a bit of creative filing a stock compact basepad will fit. I trimmed the sides to an angle, filing away a bit at a time. with the sloped sides it fits like a charm in the magwell. Note: You will need 1/4" of slam pad or other material to make the base plate thicker.
  8. I received my ESP magwell today, and after 30 seconds of messing with it... Factory Base pads will not fit. I am going to grind one of the old factory pads down and see how critical the dimensions become. I will keep you posted.
  9. This is a great explanation... and I thought I was the only nerd here Using my M&P I have had the greatest accuracy so far using 147 moly bullets with 3.9 WSF and 1.135 OAL.
  10. Well, you must have a cooler TSC than I do. Mind sending me enough to do four mags? PM me your address and a $10 check might show up in the mail... Unless you do Paypal? :-) Well, you must have a cooler TSC than I do. Mind sending me enough to do four mags? PM me your address and a $10 check might show up in the mail... Unless you do Paypal? :-) I was thinking the same thing.. PMs Sent to both of you.
  11. I learned the compact base pads trick from Dan B at IDPA Nationals, works great. As for slam pads I went down to my local TSC and bought a piece of sheet rubber 1/4" thick. Between the band saw, belt sander and a sharp knife I now have 6 slam pads and enough material to make 50 more for a whopping $6. They sell this stuff by the linear foot http://www.tractorsupply.com/equine/horse-stalls-accessories/rubber-matting/flexgard-multi-use-utility-mat-40-in-x-96-in-x-1-4-in-5040796
  12. Well if I have to cut something, I will probably buy some sheet rubber. I just wondered if anyone had ready-made slam pads for the M&P mags.
  13. I am looking for either. however the caveat is, I use the gun for IDPA so it has to fit the IDPA box. SSS has a new magwell out which is built specifically for IDPA ESP class, but the extended base pads for IDPA are far and few between. So the interim solution is to put slam pads on the stock mag bottoms to make a longer mag. Pistol gear has some similar slam pads for the XD (wrong size for M&P) http://www.pistolgea...hp?prod=00PG002
  14. I did not see rubber slam pads at SSS... did I miss them somewhere?
  15. I have been Googling the intranet trying to find some Rubber Slam Pads for the S&W M&P 9 magazines. Anyone know where these can be purchased?
  16. I don't need a magwell. But I WANT a magwell. It's time for a new toy. Leave logic out of this. Thanks! Off to find it... EDIT: Just ordered one. Gimme! I just ordered one too...I am in line right behind Memphis.

  18. I check my crimp by feel and have the same thing. A slight ledge that you can feel with your finger, just barely crimped into the bullet. One thing to note, is that over-crimping will cause your accuracy to suffer.
  19. Time square is cool and if you want a decent meal with a view you could try eating at the Marriott top floor restaurant (it rotates)
  20. Neil, CT IDPA shoots every Thursday night now at Winchester in FTW.
  21. The "My Assistant" link can be added to the template. However at this time it appears that feature is not part of the template, thus no link, thus no assistant. I am sure it will be back soon. Further reading indicates My Assistant was replaced with other features for IP Board
  22. Did you use the Cerakote C series or H series finish?
