Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Not to long ago i posted Mental Meltdown and got a lot of good pointers ,But no matter what i've done i'm still at the back of the pact which is new for me, I've always done very well in anything i've done and never been the nervious type but here lately every time i've gone to the line as soon as i hear Make Ready i start to shake and lose my train of thought the walk thruogh and going over the stage in my mind just gets blown out, i feel that the stage i just shot is good but when i walk back through and see what i shot well it's not so good my classifiers and so-so, A 43.63%,25.17%and a50.63%after just 3 matches but overall total match scores are 25.00%,What is it that makes someone who played sports all their life and not get the jitters all of a sudden get them at match time ? All commets welcome even if they are brutal. ED
  2. thanks for the advice guys i think since my dad had Dillon that's what i'm going with. And to WanderingMan check this out when my dad passed i lived an hour away. i saw my dad last, 5 days before his passing and he told me That if anything happens to him i'll get all his guns, and my mom was right there and here is the knife in the back, a few months after (to give my mom some time) i asked for the guns and her reply was I ALREADY SOLD THEM!!!! items she sold (hold on cause this gonna hurt alittle) 1. 2 matching Colt .45's 2. 2 matching S&W .45's 3. Sharps 45-70 (took my dad 3 years to get after odering) and all i got was a Marlin .45 rifle and a Stoger coach gun (sucks to be me, my own mother hates me LOL) some guy in his SASS club jumped on them 2 days after the services what a SCUM,told me if i payed him what he paid i can have them.
  3. I've been shooting USPSA for 2 months now and want to start reloading, and belive it or not about a month before that a sold all the reload equip. my dad left me he was in SASS how stupid was i ?, all his equip. was Dillon so to get to my question what kind of equip, do i need to get ie... bullets, powder, what is best for the money. i've looked on Midway's but i just don't know what to get i'm shooting a .45 acp in limited 10 and production. so a liitle advice from the pros would help thanks Ed
  4. these are small and just below the top of the brass looks to me like a stovepipe dent but a lot smaller, but i will get a picture up ASAP
  5. I've noticed small dings on my used brass, what could be causing this and will it affect reloading, I'm shooting a Springfield XD.45 so if any else shoots the same does this happen to your brass, or would it be better to let a gunsmith look at my gun ? they are very small not like one caused by a stovepipe.
  6. I shoot production should i stay there or go limted or limited 10?
  7. got mine last week will be shooting my second match on march 15th and can't wait to get classifedand the advise you will get here is worth it's weight in gold these guys in here are super nice.
  8. I'm a big fan of SA XD .45 but i'm beginning to think it might be to much for USPSA matches, i'm also a pretty good size man 6' 240lbs so handling the gun isn't the issuse , my first shot is dead on but then my second shot is always in the C's or worse i've been using Fiocchi 230 gr would going to a 185 gr or maybe changing calibers be the way to go and if so what is the best choice. also in USPSA is calibers scored diffrent due to the recoil factor?
  9. G-Man Thanks for your input, you and everyone else in this forum have given me good sound advice and that is what i like about this sport all though we compete with one another, people will help in any way they can which is very rare in any other sport and that is what will keep shooting for a long time to come. ED
  10. I'm new to this forum and to the USPSA match game, I put a lot of pratice time into the fundamentals drawing the gun, getting my sightline and mag changes everything goes and feels great even during live fire pratice BUT..... during a match when that buzzer goes off i have a mental meltdown to say the least trying to fly through the course dropping mags not enaging some targets. When you come in 36th out of 39 doesn't help either I NEED HELP!!!!! :wacko
  11. this topic may be crazy, about a month ago i took a USPSA new shooters course and they pointed out that i tilt my head to the right, i've try to correct it, can anyone out there give me some advice
  12. It would hard to quit something i love so much
  13. Just joined a local gun club and shot my first match and i'm hooked might even quit duck hunting
