Corjyn
Hey guys/gals: I am curious where you pick up your 9mm factory loads for cost effectiveness. Thanks. John
Micah
WWB from Walmart. A year ago, I also looked at Blazer Aluminum from Natchez, but the price has gone up too much to be cost effective.

SLM
Dick's Sports sometimes has pretty good (for today anyway) prices on Remington if you buy a half case or full case.
FranDoc
Dick's Sporting Goods: Remington is ~$7/box of 50 in case lots (10 boxes or more) if you watch for sales. Reloadable brass, rather than aluminum. Note on this ammo: it just makes 125 PF out of my 4" XD. It's done that twice in major matches. You'll want to check this in your gun before depending upon it in a major match. Atlanta Arms & Ammo has decent factory reloaded ammo that handles well. You have to contact them to get a current price list; they don't post one on the website. I also watch www.cheaperthandirt.com, www.ammoman.com, and www.ammunitionstore.com, but they're all usually more expensive than the Remington at Dick's. Dave Gundry
I was shooting Magtech @ ~$8/box until the price just went up to $10.50 a few weeks ago. Now it looks like I'll be shooting WWB from Walyworld (currently $15.72/100 in my area).
ChuckS
I like the Armscor 124 gr stuff. Shoots softer than WWB. The Armscor chronoed at ~ 133 PF in my SP-01. The WWB was about 137. Ivan (blackdragon) should be able to point you in the right direction: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=101 Later, Chuck
cztn
Atlanta Arms and Ammo. Price is OK, accurate and soft recoil on the
Ruger_Newbie
I know its dirty ammo and I have 2 clean my Ruger P95DC more often with it, but I shoot Wolf 115gr FMJ out of my Ruger. And since my sister works at the local Gander Mountain and I can get her discount on it I pick it up for 7.99/box + tax so I get it for like 8.47/box when u look at everything else about $12.00 or more a box. G-tar-man
I just bought a couple boxes of WWB from walmart tonight and the price went from about $15.70 per 100 (tax figured in) to about $19.55 a box near me.

Merlin Orr
I know this was not what you requested in your post but....... With a Dillon SDB buying once fired brass and using premium coated lead bullets you would save about $85.00 per thousand. Using Montana Gold Bullets and buying once fired brass you would save about $70.00 per thousand. Even a caveman should be able to see the pictograph on the wall. warpspeed
This is one of those funny situations. You are short on funds so buying a press, tumbler, scale, Vibra Prime and such looks like a whole ton o cash. $ 30 ~ $ 40 once a month seems much more manageable. Now the math works out if once you shoot 6 - 8K round you have paid for the equipment but at even 200 rds per month thats 12 to 18 months time. The solution is to find a shooting buddy who has a press or will go in halves and then it can work out with out a ton of money up front. Good luck. gose
I've used the Federal, Win, and Magtech 147gr FMJ-TCs. Might not be the cheapest, but they work, are soft and make factor with a good margin.
DougCarden
+20,000 on the Fed AE 115gr ammo.....I was gifted at a class yesterday and shot about 500rds of it......It shot great and it was much milder than the WWB ammo I have shot.....FWIW..... revchuck
Dont know about cost, but americian eagle 9mm has great accuracy and realy soft recoil. It is good stuff, but soft? The batch I had chronoed at exactly 1200 fps.
crsmn
When Dick's runs their sale, it is competitive, and they have mixed several boxes of 40's and 45's to qualify for the case price. You have to get there before the police or the 40's are gone!
mlane300
Winchester White Box seems to be the cheapest. Just remember the longer you shoot factory ammo, the more money you have lost torward the purchase of a reloader.
steveknapp
My local walmart has a bad selection of ammo and horrible prices. Bass Pro, Gander, and Cabelas all have either ~$11/50 or ~$22/100 deals. The ammo selections are varied.
astephenson
WWB from Walmart. And make sure you save your brass...you'll start reloading sooner or later, and the winchester brass is pretty good stuff.
MichiganShootist
And make sure you save your brass Maybe so you can sell it. I reload only .45 but sell my 9 mm brass. Right now they are selling for around $40 per thousand which effectively reduces the cost of the factory stuff. Obviously all the economics depend on how many rounds of a given caliber you shoot in a year. I have also heard of a number of shooting clubs that have presses the members can use to reload. I think that's a pretty cool idea for people who aren't ready to invest in a press.
