Sounds good! That's what you needed! Enjoy!

Coming from an optical background, hot brass behind glasses is a safety issue. I'd be ripping my glasses off to get that hot bastard away from my eyes. You want to take a chance on burning and scaring your cornea, knock yourself out. Eyes aren't like the rest of the body where a scar really isn't going to affect much. Scar your cornea over your pupil and I'll almost guarantee you'll never see worth a damn out of that eye again.

IMHO, no thumb rest. Some of us are southpaws.

Type II anodizing is fairly easy, a bit expensive to get set up with the proper racking, sealants, etc. Type III anno is what you really want on a firearm. It's harder than type II. Sigs for example are type III to hold up to the battery. http://usanodizing.com/ Has (at least had) a good reputation for being able to redo Sig frames.

Mine came yesterday, looked like it's been best around pretty good. Anyway, the format looks good but I haven't found the new Masters, GM's, RO's, etc. Am I just missing it?

A case full to the top wouldn't make major under 115's for me. It may work with heavier bullets but I don't know.

Hornady case plate in Dillon feeder?
SLM replied to reloader901's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
For 9mm the Hornady small pistol plate is the only way to make the Dillon collator on my 1050 worth a damn. I can't figure out the difference but the Dillon plate turns either one in a jam-o-matic. The Hornady plate is, naturally, flawless in the Hornady and gets the Dillon to a mostly acceptable level of usable. -
I had a Bedell titanium and to be honest didn't l like it. I never really got it to work the way I thought it should. When I re-barreled that gun I had a Brazos Thunder put on and like it better. My Akai is better, IMO, than the Brazos and the Brazos is much better than the Bedell Ti.

1050 Shell Plate Roller Bearing
SLM replied to Mbauer67's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Not dumb at all! I just didn't have 30 bucks to buy a bunch of screws and knobs I didn't need. The bearing is 5 bucks delivered on eBay. I would like to know what the exact O ring is that is coming with the kit. The thin 1/16th rings are easily available and less than a buck locally but still leave some room for the bearing to move around. Maybe the factory kit has the same issues or there is something in the directions about it but for less than 6 bucks I'm not gonna complain! -
What do you want to know exactly? I have a full size Katana in 9. The gun has 6 small barrel holes, 2 up and 2 on each side in a V formation. I run HS-6 under 115 jhp's and it's flat. The dot barely moves, maybe 1/4 of the way up the glass. I've had several other open shooters say the gun doesn't appear to move at all.

I haven't seen them anywhere.

1050 Shell Plate Roller Bearing
SLM replied to Mbauer67's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The O ring goes down over where the lock ring screws on. It's purpose is to help center the bearing. The 65 O ring goes right on but it is actually too thin to fully center the bearing. I'm going to make a piece out of aluminum one of these days when I get some 2" OD stock. -
Trying to find ways to grip more with weak hand!
SLM replied to lugnut's topic in Training Techniques
Subconsciously is the trick. I struggle with this myself. Part of my "make ready" routine is to tell myself support hand, support hand, support hand. I'm getting better at it. It doesn't always happen right at the buzzer but I often feel my support hand grip tighter during the stage. Try reminding your subconscious mind. For me it has been a big help.
