  1. Thanks for the tip. I've been messing with filing different portions of the ribs to get a better fit like you suggested. It fits right up tight until I tighten the extension down and then it pops back out.
  2. Does anyone know if there's a way to modify the forend so the base of it sits flush against the receiver? Every time I tighten the extended mag tube down, it pulls the forend away from the receiver making it harder to quad load. I've beveled the forend to make things easier, but if the forend sat flush against the receiver I think I'd like the setup better. Thanks

  4. I have a few questions regarding wet tumbling with ss media. How do most people remove the primers before they start the tumbling process? Is it best to get a decapping die. Should I use a solution such as water, vinegar, salt, and soap to soak the brass in for awhile to clean the brass a bit and just resize and decap at the same time, then wet tumble? Looking forward to trying this out
  5. Thank you, that was dumb of me. That solved it
  6. I've been having trouble figuring out why my case necks are bulging recently. I haven't changed anything besides bullet and powder charges. The dies are setup the same, other than changing the OAL for the bullet seater. Do I have too much lube on the cases possibly? It only bulges when seating the bullet.
  7. Yes thank you for asking. I was under the impression that with carbide dies case lube was not needed. The first time I tried the case lube I sprayed it inside the die and it did not work. But after spraying the cases beforehand the press works. I can't believe it makes that much difference. Thanks for your help. I loaded my first set of rounds to check at the range tomorrow!
  8. I finally got the press working. It did turn out to need case lube. I was under the impression that it wasn't needed with carbide dies, but it certainly seems to. I sprayed some one shot case lube in the die originally and it didn't help, but after spraying the cases everything works pretty well. Thanks for everyone's help I really appreciate it.
  9. I just got myself setup to start reloading but I haven't made it past the resizing die. I have a lyman tru-line jr press with RCBS carbide dies to reload 9mm. After tumbling the brass I set up the die to just contact the shellholder at full extension of the press. I then inserted a case into the shellholder and tried to run it through the resizing/depriming die. I could not insert the full case into the die, only half the case would insert. The shellholder was about 1/2" from the die and the depriming pin was not preventing the case from inserting into the die. I cannot determine what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I just checked to see if that may be the problem by screwing the pin up as far as possible and that didn't fix anything. I've sprayed one-shot case lube on the die after it wouldn't load. I've also tried didn't brands of brass and still nothing. Maybe I should contact RCBS? Thanks for your help so far.
  11. Yes the die does touch the shellholder before I put a case in it to resize. Then I can only get them within about 1/2" of each other. I was reading the directions of the rcbs dies and it notes not to overcam with carbide dies, I guess the carbide insert could crack.
  12. I'm in need of some help. A friend of mine helped me get started reloading by giving me a free Lyman Tru-Line Jr. Today was the day the final shipment of supplies arrived and I was able to start reloading. I purchased a turret plate for the top of the press which allows for the standard size dies to be used with the press. I'm using RCBS carbide dies in 9mm. While setting up the depriming and resizing die I was unable to press the whole case into the die. I could only get half the piece of brass into the die. I probably shouldn't have, but I pushed down as hard as I could on the lever and the case wouldn't budge. Is there anything obvious that may stick out that I'm doing wrong? Could there be a problem with the dies? I would appreciate any help. Thanks a lot!
  13. I was recently emailed the results from the match here in Chambersburg. If you guys don't have them yet, pm me your email address and I'll forward it to you.
  14. I know what you mean. I can't seem to pick any cheap hobbies. I like your land rover
  15. Nice looking jeeps. Sethmark what competition is that? WEROCK UROC another rock?
  16. Last summer I put a lift kit on last fall and this is the first trip with my jeep lifted
  17. After buying my jeep a few years ago I joined a jeep forum and decided to go rockcrawling with a group of guys at on offroad park here in PA. I didn't really know what I was getting into, but I was hooked after the first time. Just thought I would post some pictures of what I like to do besides shooting. My first trip I broke the steering box completely off the frame but was lucky enough to get in a magazine.
  18. I just bought a couple boxes of WWB from walmart tonight and the price went from about $15.70 per 100 (tax figured in) to about $19.55 a box near me.
  19. I ordered the CR speed belt, and the blade-tech DOH special Wednesday night. They said it could take up to a month to ship, but I'm looking forward to getting it in.
  20. Well nice to meet you. I know Marty pretty well so I joined the Chambersburg club also. Are you going to the shoot in February?
  21. Alright, sounds good and thanks a lot for everyone's help. I think I'm going to watch the next action pistol competition at my shooting range, and then I'll sign up for the one after that. I still need a lot of practice. Thanks again
  22. That looks like a good deal, one question though. The one drop down bar says attachment and the option is 1.5 SR loop and 1.75 SR loop, is that the belt size?
  23. Thanks a lot guys. I think I'll look for the blade tech DOM with the CR speed belt. I think I'm going to hold off on the magazine pouches for now, but while I'm asking questions, what brand would you recommend for the magazine pouches? And I guess I should get 3? sslav, I noticed there are about 4 or 5 places around me but all are about and hour away. I see you live in NJ, do you ever go to the York competitions?
