ErikW
Let's assume it's gotta be British or European, 9mm luger or less, concealable under his dinner jacket Knock yourself out with others; I was restricted by the ten item poll limit. SIXXgun
He already has a back up gun. He usually pulls it out after all the bad guys are already toast. If you've seen many Bond movies you know what I'm talking about. But seriously, he should carry Scaramanga's "Golden Gun" as a back up/trophy piece. George
228. But the P226 would be the better choice as it's exactly the same width and packs 2 more rounds.
38superman
Should be something British or at the very least, European. I believe there was a scene in one of the Pierce Brosnan movies (Diamonds are Forever?) in which he was cleaning his gun when a firefight broke out. It turned out to be a holographic training exercise. If I remember correctly, the gun appeared to be a Sig or possibly and H&K. It seemed to fit him well and looked very natural in his hand. I'll go with Sig Tls
warpspeed
I'm down with the Sig too. Something about a Glock in a 00's hand that doens't seem right.
Scooter
He should be carrying a Walther PPK, that's his trademark. Same reason he should be driving an Aston Martin. Edited December 30, 2006 by Scooter
jasmap
+1 on the PPK. That's his thing.
George
I love the rooftop gun battle at Palmyra (Largo's place) in Thunderball where he is taking 20 yard + stronghand only shots in semi-dark with that little PPK and the recipients go down like they were hit with a "brick through a plate glass window" ;-) yeah, I'll stick with the 228/226 for a NEW official JB gun. It's a realistic choice in todays world.
jasmap
But James isn't realistic. That's why we love him.
AikiDale
I voted for the Beretta .25 because that is the gun he liked. Shot placement is the key here and there is a whole lot of cool factor in trusting your life to a pistol that has less oomph than a .22 LR. Scooter
Now if he couldn't have the PPK, it would have to be the HK P7. 00 agents have to carry something unique.
HSMITH
Not a fan of the gun but the P7M8 is just odd enough to take him into the next generation of movies. The gun shoots great, is reliable like the sun, accurate and everything else you want, but is as ugly as they get.....
Pigdawg
Needs to be something exotic. I voted for the 210 but I know its not practical at all. I do think however the P7M13/8 would be a great choice.

Micah
He should carry a Glock 19, since it can pass through metal detectors Edited December 30, 2006 by Pharaoh Bender
mpeltier
007 with a Glock? Next thing you know they will have him driving a FORD. Oh wait wasn't one of the cars a FORD he was driving in Casino Royal? Darn what is the world of James Bond coming too. At least the ladies are still exotic. I also would favor the HK P7M8. I carried a PSP version for many years and it was about as perfect a carry gun as I have ever owned.
zhunter
HK P7M8 Lots of cool factor with this gun!!!
38superman
What is the standard sidearm for the British military? After all, he is a Commander in the Royal Navy. The Walther was certainly his signature weapon. I'm sure it was considered "exotic" when Iam Fleming wrote "Goldfinger" or "Thunderball". Now, raise your hand if you would like to face down the bad guys with a .25 or even a PPK. Maybe it's time to bring Bond into the 21st century. Even 007 cool has its limits.
