Another thought to drag this out...Should there have been any Nationals slots awarded to the winners whose class met the requirements?

Saw that video (or one like it) a while back. There is also another video of a anti-gang unit officer talking to elementary school kids about gun safety as he AD's a round into his foot and then tries to play it off...not funny but still funny.

Has anybody that shot A4 received their trophy (or frame) yet?

I can force in 18 as well, but usually only run 16 per mag. 18 rnds with the fat 45's is a lot of friction for the spring to overcome. Plan your stages, if you don't nee the extra two, leave them out.

What is the difference between an STI mag and a PARA mag as far as seating goes? I see STI used to amke mags for PARA's but do not anymore. I was thinking about buying a couple STI tubes and modifying them to run in a P16/40. I'm thinking all I have to do to get them to seat in the PARA is take up the mag release catch slot in the side of the tube. Any thoughts or experiences?

I had a discussion with a friend and we discussed putting a 6" barrel on my 625. It would be an older 625-2 barrel. He said he might have heard some stories about lead (or moly coated lead) bullets tumbling from barrels swithched like this. Anybody have aby ideas if this is true or not? How can it be overcome? JM

I happen to be one of those parking lot hogs with the big 3/4 ton fuel bill each month. I try to park in the back half of the parking lot just because it's easier, and I hate having all the compact hybrid rice grinders laugh at my twelve point turn to get into a 9' stall. But I get even when I haul ass up behind them when they're not paying attention and then they look in the rear view mirror and see a big gold bowtie and nothing else. They sure can change lanes fast. On the other hand, my big truck will pass anything but a gas pump. Ha Ha. JM

My post from another thread: I just picked up a brand new Miculek 327 PC and shot it for the first time this morning. The recoil was pretty mellow using 38 spl loads. I also shot my 625 for comparison, and both of us thought the 625 had just a little more felt recoil. Then I shot a few .357 magnums through it and thought the recoil was really cool. I actually enjoyed it, but would not want to run more than a couple of cylinders full of the badboys. It went something like this - squeeze, bang, regrip, squeeze, bang, regrip, squeeze, bang, regrip....etc. It's hard to hang onto the sucker with the Miculek grips on it. The only problem is that the 327 has such a wide barrel on it, if I loosen up my holster to accomodate it, my 625 fits way too lose unless I tighten the holster back up. The cylinder locks up REALLY tight like Carmoney suggested, but hopefully it will loosen up after a few weeks of dry fire. I also looked at the center pin hole and it looks like the alloy frame is sleeved with steel around the pin hole to keep it from wearing out irregularly. I'm sure the sleeve could be replaced, if needed. Justin

I've been in contact with Easy Hit. They only made a limited run of the fluorescent front sight blades, and all went to the S&W dealer network. I haven't been able to track any down as of yet. However, the guys at Easy Hit say they might be interested in producing a run of them. Would any of you be interested in them? If you haven't seen them the entire front blade is fluorescent plastic, installs just the same as the iron sights. I like it, especially up close. Long range may not be too good, though. I'm definitely considering putting some up fron to Easy Hit, not intending to profit, just to pass them on. What do you guys think? Would they move if not priced too high? I'm not trying to advertise...just seeing if there is any interest. Justin

We have started shooting steel matches locally. 4 stages each month. All I can say is anybody close enough to participate should try it. It's a blast. If you've never shot a steel match before, take my advice - bring lots of ammo. More than you think you would need. We always have a couple shooters sweating out the round count on the last stage (and we only shoot 4 stages each month) and it makes it interesting. I really enjoy shooting the steel challenge stages though. Kind of makes you wonder why we still spend all the time to set up all the complex stages with walls and props and activators and swingers and no shoots and.....nevermind. JM

I just bought a Miculek 327 and it has a fluorescent front blade sight on it. In the box, there is a small package the sight came from and it is an Easy Hit front blade (Easy Hit....Tom Knapp). That sight glows like the neon signs that guided me through college. Anybody seen em for sale, or know where to look? I emailed Easy Hit, but no response yet. JM

Are the 8 shot 686's built on a different frame size than the 6/7 shot pistols? JM

A revolver shooter at our matches showed me his dummy rounds. He had filled the primer pockets with some silicone (or caulking) that kind of cushions the firing pin during dry fire. When it wears out, he just digs it out with a pocket knife and replaces it. Very cheap, and still gets the full weight of dummy rounds. Make sure the silicone is fully dry before you dry fire with it though. JM

Can a 6 shot 686 be converted to an 8 shot? Specifically the 686 competitor model. The one with the big heavy Duke Nukem' barrel?

mix a little sweet's solvent with some kroil and run a wet patch through the barrel....wait a few hours and brush the heck out of it...repeat. This might help get some of the deep stuff out of the bore. JM

I think the one on gunbroker is way too high, so I "borrowed" one of his pictures. The one I found is just like it and almost as much. Maybe a stalemate. JM
