Sarge
FROM SHOOTING USA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Scoutten. In his thirty years of reporting the shooting sports, Jim played a pivotal role in the industry and will be greatly missed. “As always, shoot safely, shoot often, and keep ‘em in the ten ring” -Jim Scoutten

Artemas
Watching Jim and Shooting USA as a teenager is where I learned about IDPA, USPSA, and much of my early firearm information. If a TV personality has ever affected my life, it was Jim Scoutten. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing.

pcs352
Solid dude and did so much to 'normalize' firearms and the shooting sports. He was a treasure.
RJH
His show is the reason I started shooting USPSA. He probably did more for the shooting sports on the pre YouTube days than anyone else

chevymen21
One of the true legends for the shooting sports. Will be sad knowing he is gone but we all can still partake in one of the best firearms shows ever made. May we all appreciate the important things for a minute! Bill T
I remember both him and the late, great Bob Munden with the famous, "Shot Of The Week" in the mid and late 90's on "Shooting USA". He also featured Byron Ferguson, a famous longbow archery shooter, who performed some really interesting and difficult shots.
808matt
Almost wish I hadn’t seen this. I wasn’t lucky enough to see Shooting USA on TV, but I love watching clips on YouTube. Iconic voice.
