Fastlil1
I recently added Dawson Precision grip tape to my M&P Pro. Love it, but it doesn't cover the back strap where I was hoping for the extra grip the most. So I stippled the back strap, but I think the rubber is too soft and really didn't add a ton of grip. Anyone else experience this, or do I just need to burn deeper? Are there any other options for adding grip to the back strap? Fastlil1
Does the 2.0 back strap hold up to stippling or does it not need it?
dbgeek
Mine is very aggressive out of the box - notably more so than a 1.0. Quite a bit more than the hogue g10 piranha on my sigs, too. Stop by your local toy store and fondle a 2.0 would be the easy way to check. edit - found them for sale (I knew I saw it somewhere): https://store.smith-wesson.com/accessories/grips Edited June 19, 2018 by dbgeek

Domineaux
Have you seen or tried the Hogue Hand-all Hybrid? (https://amzn.to/2ttxyv5) It locks in like the factory grip modules, and gives an incredible grip approximately the size of the medium factory grip module. robertg5322
2 part epoxy and silicon carbide grit. I did mine, it's as trippy as anybody could want, looks good and cost about $15.00 for enough to do a bunch of guns.

Prep is key, tape anywhere you don't want glue or silicon carbide. I also did an AR9 grip and an STI. Gets easier every time.

Stippled my M&P a while back, and the backstrap was distinctly different polymer frome the frame.
WarrenZ
I Stippled my backstrap with a very bumpy star type texture. WarrenZ
https://store.otdefense.com/products/otd-wagon-wheel-tip They call it a wagon wheel it was included with the kit I ordered. If you are just getting started stippling I would start with a few pmags and spare backstrapps first.

The 2.0 grip inserts are VERY grippy and don't need any enhancements. A quick fix is a strip of adhesive backed "skateboard tape", also sold as traction tape for ladder rungs and steps. I've added thin strips of it to my 686's exposed backstrap and to the front strap and backstrap of my Ruger MkIV. It really works and clings very well. EvilNuff
I second the other positive comments about the 2.0 blackstrap. It is just about perfect to me.
