Trubor minor?

Starting out my learning 9mm Trubor. Attempting to use up some of my supply of N320and Blue Bullet 147RM by starting off with minor....any experiences with recoil springs for these lighter loads. Suggested we’re 6/7 lb. variable springs....any thoughts??

My TruBor 9mm was pretty good with factory ammo if the gun was Very Clean and Dripping

Wet ....., with the standard 10 lb spring

I run an 8 in my open gun for minor.

I also run an 8lb spring in mine for minor, I should add I bought mine new in the bag and it came with an 8lb spring and a standard guide rod ,not the recoil master.

why shoot 147gr and 320? ( large stock?)

if you want to shoot minor N350 (7.2gr) or Power pistol (7.2gr) are great powders and little recoil with 115gr FMJ bullets... and the comp is working

Tommy....huge stock of both.....used for Limited Minor.  Will try to use some up, then experiment with 9mm Major and try to sell some off.

Im cheap.....apparently an oxymoron for Open class.....lol.

 

So no one has experience with 6 lb. or 7lb. Variable springs in minor??

I've run a lot of 7lbs springs

your gun needs to be built with a smooth slide to frame fit for it to pick up to rounds on a fully loaded mag with a 6 or 7 lbs spring.

So if it doesn't run at first with minor you might find down loading your mags might help

I run an 8# Wolff variable in my Trubor. 7# just wasn’t reliable

I start at 6# with light loads in an open gun.

I've been shooting 7# in my .38sc for a couple of years, 8# in my 9 major.   Both 170-172 PF.  Weights selected for best dot control.   No problems with either.

I have an 8lb Wolfe variable in my 9major. Will only cycle minor ammo if it is about 130-135 pf.

Forgot to ask.......are any of you all using a Shock Buffer in these Trubor minor rounds ?.......running them in my Atlas Titan in 9mm and seems to work well............thanks....

I've had a 1911 (MANY years ago) jam up with a shock buff - no more

i run an 8lb wolf variable, tried a 7 but had a few failure to go into battery, so back to the 8

I can run factory " white box " and remington 115s with the Variable 7# using a Shock Buffer.

Also the Shock Buffer with Major PF doesn't get beat up. I think the comp takes out a lot of energy from the slide that would be there in a limited 1911.

In my 9MM trubor which I use for steel I have an 8# wolf spring, no Shock buffs, (STI says not to use) and loading 5.3 Gr of N340. I find the gun needs to be well oiled to run right and it hates the cold weather.

8# Wolff in my 9mm Trubor runs both major and minor loads without issue.
