Sarge
Debated buying an SUV after 5 years of cramming 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag to go to matches. But I love my truck too much for that so I spent the winter brainstorming and came up with this. I put a top on the bed and built a sliding bed liner. Plenty of covered room now! Flatland Shooter
More pictures and details Sarge. Some of us want to steal your idea. Instead of a sliding shelf, for years I've carried a garden hoe in the bed of the truck. But I like your idea better. Bill
GrumpyOne
Should've just bought a mini-van instead of the truck! Lol! Very cool Sarge!
hvsmith
It's both illegal & not permitted to drive around with a license plate "USPSA" in a mini.
Pat Miles
That looks identical to the Taco I sold before buying my Tundra. What year? Who makes the cap?
Lifeislarge
Awesome!!! Now all you need is a truck vault bolted down to the slider to store your guns while you're at lunch after the match.
whitedog
Nicely done Sarge. This set up is available commercially for pickups, vans and some mini vans. We have them at work. Never seen one home done. Cool.

Sarge
More pictures and details Sarge. Some of us want to steal your idea. Instead of a sliding shelf, for years I've carried a garden hoe in the bed of the truck. But I like your idea better. Bill I will get a few more posted up showing some of the smaller detail. Basically plywood, bearings from amazon, drawer pulls as top rollers and a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet. Should've just bought a mini-van instead of the truck! Lol! Very cool Sarge! This truck has been with me for awhile. We have a minivan but I hate driving the "dream killer". Awesome!!! Now all you need is a truck vault bolted down to the slider to store your guns while you're at lunch after the match. The windows are tinted so dark you can't see inside. I was thinking of rigging up a way to play a barking dog soundtrack while out of the truck. Nicely done Sarge. This set up is available commercially for pickups, vans and some mini vans. We have them at work. Never seen one home done. Cool. The one I wanted was about $1200. Since the top was $1700 I decided to scrimp on the bed slide. Nice, clean work on that Sarge! That's what I was going for. I always try to make "home made" look better than home made! That looks identical to the Taco I sold before buying my Tundra. What year? Who makes the cap? It's an '05 that I bought new. It just rolled over 100k last couple of months or so but since it's a Toyota I figure it's just getting broken in. It's a LEER cap. I took the huge cheesy advertising off of the lid as soon as i got it home.
Reshoot
What ever happened to climbing in and out of the bed? I think you are just getting old and lazy, Kevin. Seriously though, that really looks slick!
Nik Habicht
Kevin, that looks really good! I like the slide -- if I wasn't height limited under a tonneau cover, I'd seriously consider one! Did the cap wind up going on over the bed rail covers?
