  1. PT Ambi, has the shield
  2. Having shot both, I like the new grip and it feels different to me. I don't think you would have much of a problem selling the old one. I still have the old style and enetually will upgrade to the new style.
  3. Check with Phoenix Trinity as posted above. Someone may have a group order going.
  4. Take a look at the Pheonix Trinity ambi safety.
  5. Got an email the other day saying there was a match
  6. 168 Federal Gold Medal Match, average was 2508 fps out of the 20" barrel. I had Short Action Customs put a large bolt handle on it, running a FFP Votex Viper 6-24, waiting for my EFR to come in so I can nv on it.
  7. It's a 20" A5, but doesn't have a fluted barrel. It is a built like a tank, i haven't touched my 700 since getting my FN. I do not see me going back.
  8. I like my spr, it is a great rife out of the box and has been very accurate. It has been a sub .5 moa with Federal GM 168's.
  9. Double Alpha Racemaster works for mine.
  10. Another fan of the PT Grip, have one on my limited gun and can't thing of a reason to try anything else.
  11. You might want to contact Gans Guns, send an email, he will get back to you.
  12. Dawson Precision has the formula on their website, if you take a 5" average (4-6" low) at 25', your front site needs to be .111 shorter on on a 5" pistol or .128" on a 6" pistol. You must have a tall front sight, my 2011's and 1911's are all running a .180" front sight. Measure yours and subtract = the sight you need.
  13. I have had it on for a awhile now, no issues. I know a few others with the alum on thier limited gun and no issues for them.
  14. The weight is the difference in the aluminum vs. the stainless steel. I have a PT alum on my current STI, next one will be a SS for the weight.
  15. I use the EGW stainless guide rod and run a 12# spring, it's what worked best for me.
  16. I prefer the aggressive, I have an aluminum with the aggresive finish and it's great, some think it's to much, but I like it.
  17. I follow the way the video shows and never had a problem. I figure if he makes the sights, he knows how to install them.
  18. I would also like to see how they turn out with wet tumbling also, post pics when your done.
  19. Don't know about a using a tumbler, you can use sandpaper. Start around 600 grit and go up from there. If you get to 1500-2000, they can be hand polished with a fine compound. Just lube the paper so it doesn't load up and stop working when you are using it.

    Match Truck

And here I thought you were just loading ammo all winter, looks good.
  21. Mine was a drop in fit, I did change to a SV trigger, and a little reshaping of the right side of the mag release. Changing grips is one of the best things I've done to my STI. If your good with taking your pistol apart, you should be able to do this yourself. The grips are designed for the SV trigger bow, never tried to use the STI trigger since I wanted the new trigger.
  22. v1911, the grip is made for the SV trigger bow, it dropped right in on my grip, everything was a straight change over from my plastic grip to the PT grip, needed to blend the mag release and fit the magwell.
