Flexmoney
Any idea as to when the wait list will open up ?? I don't know. Traditionally...it seems USPSA tries to fill most of the "earned" slots first...then open up the waiting list. I am just guessing, but I think they do that to reduce getting names [that they have to contact for earned slots] on the waiting list that would get a slot through other means. Earned slots: - Slots are distributed to top performers at the Nationals - Slots are distributed to top performers at the Area matches - Slots are distributed to top performers at the "other" Level III matches - Slots are distributed to the Sections, based on Mission Count (participation). It takes time to get each person contacted that won an earned slot at a match. And, the slots that go out to the sections based on participation...I don't think the final Mission Count can happen until the end of Janurary (as clubs that shot in December need time to get their match reports turned in). Nik Habicht
Is there a prerequisite for getting on the waitlist, other than having a classification and valid membership? Rob Boudrie
The ability to check back a day or so later --- via classification page --- and to pay the deposit..... Nope. If you don't have a member number, use 'none' - and write down the transaction number assigned to you. The waitlist page will have a box you can enter this number on to check your status, pay the waitlist fee, and pay the slot fee when your number comes up. Rob Boudrie
can I still sign up if my membership expired 6 months ago? Yes, but you will need to renew your membership to shoot the nationals unless you are a member of another IPSC region. Instructions are at www.uspsa.org. Use the member number "NONE" and WRITE DOWN THE TRANSACTION NUMBER THE SYSTEM ASSIGNS TO YOU

sperman
Brief thread detour.........I dont think The Orleans Hotel (official match hotel) has WIFI......did I miss something? Is there a Starbucks nearby with WIFI? BB From my experience, none of the big hotels in Vegas have WiFi. They want you in the casino, not sitting in your room on the computer. Rob Boudrie
From my experience, none of the big hotels in Vegas have WiFi. They want you in the casino, not sitting in your room on the computer. All, or almost all, of the Las Vegas hotels have WiFi, but there's an interesting price inversion. In most cities, you get free wifi in the hotel and have to pay for it at the airport. WIFi is free at the Las Vegas airport, but the going rate in the Las Vegas hotels is in the $12-$15 per day range. As has been observed, use of the internet is considered similar to theft since it isn't gambling (the same reason all Las Vegas hotels close their pool at about 6PM). jasmap
Well I would've been higher on the list but I forgot to click the match I was asking to be on the wait list for (Open/Production) and I had to click back and choose the match. I am still #18 on the wait list though so I will pay up my $25 tonight. I already had a slot for the Limited match. Adrian_Sorah
HOW DO I PAY the $25 to hold my slot? There was nothing to fill out.
BritinUSA
You have a week to pay that... **IMPORTANT** Those of you not familiar with the change made to the process last year will need to be aware that if you register in the first 25 hours that the wait list is open, you will not be able to pay your registration fee. Your registration will still be recorded in the order in which it was posted to the system, an acknowledgement email will be sent and a notice will be added to the member's classification page. You MUST return within one week (between May 19th and May 26th) to pay the $25 wait list registration fee in order to keep your place in the queue. You will be notified of this on your classification page in addition to the normal wait list confirmation. This change was made in order to mitigate problems we experienced with overload between our server and our third-party billing partner while the early rush was going on. Subsequent to the first 25 hours you may pay as normal when you register. Edited May 18, 2009 by BritinUSA
