Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. I guess I have to join you. +1
  2. Ray and the American shooters guys are good people. I shoot with them regularly. Although I think Ray did just run out of ammo, so maybe this is his way to get some more?? (just kidding - you're in good hands with Ray!) brad
  3. So I bought a bunch of small rifle and small pistol primers on gunbroker (paid $80/thousand after shipping..ouch). Also got a crapload of other primers in. HURRAY!!!
  4. Let us know how that works out for ya. I have the same issues.
  5. Looks like my GF is going to shoot my STI grandmaster that I have as my backup gun. It has a few kinks that need to be worked out first, though. (And she needs a holster) What gr bullet and what powder are you using? I have to mix up a batch for her and the grandmaster. Did you leave the recoil master in there, or did you replace it with a guide rod?

    Airshows

My mouth is watering...i'd love to take one of those for a ride! Have a great time at the air show!!!
  7. Thanks for all the input. I'll talk to Johnny about it when he gets back from the phillipines. I like the idea of a detent ball more than blue loctite. I'm worried the blue loctite will seep into the top of the slide and cause issues with the firing pin. (you can see the firing pin and spring clearly through the hole for the slide racker screw)
  8. man, you are awesome!!! my new best friend! I just ordered a few thousand of them, thanks!!!! I didnt even get an email from them letting me know they were in.
  9. my post got hosed above, but what i was trying to say was the topic of this discussion, the AD that happened, was at desert lake, not at sportsman, fyi
  10. I am the MD for the Club where that video was shot so I was extremely concerned about the discussion. I didn't recognize that stage though (it was during a match when I was out of town) and I agree that it was set up poorly, which I will discuss with the person that filled in for me. The House in that video does have a couple of 180 traps, which are well known to the local ROs. The windows are not parallel by design, so the shooter is actually engaging targets at 150 degrees or so ( the setup in that video notwithstanding) and the house is usually shot from inside. Oh, and we have an NROI course scheduled for August. Keith, that was shot at desert lake, not desert sportsman. fyi.
  11. I bought one SPS tube and the thing "sticks" horribly in my gun (doesnt drop when pressing the mag release). the company I bought it from told me that I have to "tune it" in order for it to work properly. i havent had that issue with my other STI and SVI mags though.
  12. thanks man! yeah, I definitely learned something that day. it scared the crap out of me. i'll be DAMN sure never to do that one again. (I think that is what's most important, and really the reason I started this topic - being safety conscious is important.)
  13. i've been shooting uspsa for a little over two months now. uspsa is the first time i really started shooting a pistol. prior to that, it was all airguns in my backyard killing annoying pigeons.

  15. I've noticed that after I'm done shooting for the day, the little screw that keeps the slide racker on is loose. i dont really want to put any locktite on it as i have to take the screw out to remove the slide racker to clean the gun. any suggestions?
