  1. I picked a .40 because I don't reload. Factory .40 is easier to find closer down to 165pf
  2. Funny, I couldn't even see your device in the picture above because my eyes were drawn to what those wide @ss meats might be pushing, then I noticed the ammo can. Cool idea though.
  3. It probably went something like "In the other multi-gun, Saigas are 'open' guns. We don't have an 'open' division, so we won't allow them."
  4. Funny story from that match: One of my shooting buddies was sitting next to me as we waited on the morning squad. We were watching a taller sort of skinny guy wearing a SIG jersey. He asked "Is that Max?" I said no, it wasn't. He was shooting with a shorter asian wearing a Limcat Jersey. I said "It aint Max, but he and his buddy could go as Max and K.C. for Halloween". ....it actually was K.C.
  5. Shot yesterday afternoon. Luckily the skies were dry the whole afternoon relay. It was my first steel challenge. It definitely points out errors in my IPSC game that can get "lost in the wash" after a full stage.
  6. In the "new" rulebook, the word "modifications" is stated to include features offered from the factory that fall outside of HQs opinion of how a gun should look.
  7. The pump-action sanctuary doesn't really surprise me. They need a place to play, and while the semi-advantage is a small one, the rules have always been more about the perceived advantage than the real one.
  8. Would you have a problem selling me said paperweight after the match without any ATF paperwork being involved?
  9. "Thinking not required" Come up a couple classes and say that.
  10. This discussion reminds me a little of the TopShot episode with the longbow. "I'm a freakin' IPSC Grand Master and I'm going to get taken out because of a bow and arrow?" (Paraphrased)
  11. I've got one that is "or similar": retrieving a pistol from a locked box with a little key That is one I've done, and some people did it smooth, others struggled under pressure to perform the simple task we all use every day.
  12. I would definitely like to see a stage like this with steel on it. Do I load just enough rounds to finish, or do I give myself a couple extra shots for misses on the 15 yard mini popper?
  13. Since you revived it: I don't know what they were like in 2004, but the new RIAs don't take a couple hundred to "make them run right" like one comment suggested. They run fine out of the box, and are still a great budget 1911. Get the tactical model for dovetail sights and a beavertail safety.
  14. http://www.hackcollege.com/blog/2009/9/14/save-money-sharpen-razors-with-jeans.html
  15. It is called ORMM Organic Recoil Mitigation Material.
  16. I think you'll find that the group of people who are put-off by the targets being humanoid and the group of people who don't like guns in general are a similar set. I don't think there are gun friendly sponsors or potential competitors out there whose only aversion to the sport is the Metric target. I say down with the Amoeba.
  17. You left on 5. I left on 8 for ice cream. At least you missed the bulk of the rain.
  18. For Saturday Good news...it won't be hot. Bad news....it won't be dry.
  19. [tongue] Wait, it was a .45, and she lived? Not only lived, but survived with a mere fleshwound? Impossible. [/cheek]
  20. Were you at least nice enough to give the name of the first one to the Marine recruiter?
