  1. Setback wasn't his problem, he ruined a 929 revolver.
  2. That is a step on the surface of the breach face that wasn't machined off correctly. When the round fires it slams back against the breach face and gets the mark. It is usually on the brach face opposite the extractor and can be hidden by dirt and brass residue. Wipe off the breach face and look closely.
  3. The new style Mr. Bullet Feeder from DAA just hangs on the side of the Dillon case feeder so it could be moved back and forth between multiple presses as long as they have case feeders.
  4. How thick are those going to be?
  5. I received a bunch of emails but none of them had a PIN in them for me to squad? Sent a note to stats, hope I get it soon? Neal in AZ
  6. I use one shot but don't like to leave it on because of the feel of it...dirty. I sling it in an old towel with some 90% alcohol sprayed on them. 30 seconds and it is gone. Neal in AZ
  7. Just got mine going for SS and I like it a lot.
  8. I am hoping with the round butt they make some rubber grips without an exposed backstrap, put some grip in between the metal frame and your hand.
  9. I tried weak hand after loading strong hand for years and found it was a wash for the most part but a certain percentage of times I had issues re-acquiring my grip on the SH reload which made the shot to shot time longer because I had to readjust. I noticed Jerry talked about why he likes his grips is because he can squirm them to adjust his grip while shooting and he can't do that with a rubber type grip. With the WH reload I never have issue with my grip so the WH reload is way more consistent for me so that is what I do now. Neal in AZ
  10. It came out in the early 90's as I remember checking the first one I saw out in Berlin when I was stationed there. I came back in mid 94 so I am thinking end of 1993 beginning 1994.
  11. Blade tech makes two different types of holster for the 17L/24. A open front version that is their "competition" and also a regular closed version. I tried the open front version and didn't like how it felt to me so ended up with a regular drop/offset OWB closed version. I like that better and I can use any of the shorter versions of the small framed glock in it with no issues.
  12. BladeTech on a BOSS hanger system adjusted so it sits like a regular OWB in height but has more offset from the belt (within the 2" rule). .
  13. 3.2 N320 behind a Bayou 160 at 1.18" is my standard load. In testing I took it all the way up to 3.8 grains without any issues and the cases came out with no stickiness 148 PF. Neal in AZ
  14. Top screws hold the grips on, the bottoms "Screws" are just cosmetic.
  15. I haven't seen that new addition. I know back years ago they were having problems with unlocking with guys trying to use the S&W 44's for silhouette shooting.
  16. Went out with my new 929 and brought out a few others: Top: "Mod of 1988" 5" 625 .45 ACP Mid: New 929 9mm Bottom: 627 first gen
  17. Was shooting a STI Spartan in .45 ACP but just picked up a SIG MAX in .40 to continue to shoot major SS.
  18. I had issues with them stripping out with such a small allen wrench. I took a dremel cutting wheel and cut a slot in them for a regular flat blade screwdriver, works much better.
  19. CCI primers are slightly harder to seat due to size and cup thickness so as Guy said if they fired with a second hit I would say you need to look at making sure they are seated correctly to make sure the anvil has been set so it can ignite properly. I specifically use CCI LP's for a large batch of 10mm brass that has been fired more than a few times and the primer pockets are loose but not too much. Since the CCI's fit a bit tighter they work well and I can continue to use the batch of brass for lite steel shooting loads. Neal in AZ
  20. Funny, I have never heard of anyone having one of their S&W replaceable front sights popping out like that. I don't think I would have ever even thought of that, probably until it happened to me. Don't tend to hit my gun on things like doorways so I guess I am low risk. I did smack the comp on my open gun on a metal "doorway" one year at Doubletap. Had the run on video and as I went through the doorway you hear this big metal klink! Neal in AZ
  21. Warren - Thanks! Since the factory blade is .220" it would seem that is a bit higher. The height is what I was wondering about since the rear blade is higher than any other blade I have seen from S&W. I am guessing it is working for your customers which is what I was wondering about. UFO - I would like to be able to do that and if I could finds someone local (hate shipping guns) I would ask for a group rate and get it done to more than a few of my S&W revolvers. I have the easy interchangeable sight on my 627 and wondered why they didn't do it on the PC 929? It would be some much nicer but I would guess $ has something to do with it. Neal in AZ
  22. Just wondering what others have gone to for their 929, height and width? I noticed that the rear factory blade is higher that the normal S&W rear blade and didn't know if that would have any implications for blade height or thickness. I found I liked the FO blade I have on my 627 and really noticed not having one when shooting my new 929 so I need to get one. Thanks for any/all info, Neal in AZ
  23. What happens when you decap the blazer cases the decapping pin breaks out the center between the two berdan flash holes getting rid of the anvil. This results in a large jagged "flash hole" and some of the bottom of the pocket remaining which lets a regular boxer primer get seated so the case can be reloaded. It works but usually the cases split after the 2nd firing from my experience. Years ago the blazer cases were loaded with an odd sized primer which was sized between small and large pistol. I worked at a commercial ammunition reloader in college and a blazer .38 case would slip through every once in a while. it would break out the bottom of the primer pocket but since the primer pocket was bigger the primer didn't seat and fell right back out. When we were packaging the ammo I would find them loaded with bullet and powder but no primer. Neal in AZ
  24. Well being a cousin to Chuck Schumer do you expect anything less?
  25. How about Don Golembieski at Kodiak Precision in Mesa? He probably does more autos now but certainly knows revolvers.
