  1. we had to use a side by side coach gun at TacPro one time... and it sucked horribly. dump 25 loose shells in a bag over your shoulder and go at it. i have o/u's for sporting clays and they will stay in that game for me. you bring what you want to BOTW brother.
  2. <---- votes for mail in. and i found nothing lacking in the prize table, or any other aspect of the match.
  3. i've often thought that i can legally carry a gun, but its illegal for me to have a stick/baton/asp. i can use lethal force to defend myself on someone, but not less lethal... go figure. flight stories in the future.
  4. what Jesse posted was true, dropped in a JP adj trigger and tuned it up right nicely, and the yellow springs wouldnt even scratch the primers. backed up to a standard spring, no joy. backed up further to the orange spring that came with it and could finally get reliable ignition, still had the little to no take up of a JP kit, but now had a 5# or so break. Wasnt horrible, but it also wasnt near like any of my other guns with JP innards. But, it never failed to go bang with that combo either.
  5. (copied from the above link) - 12 gauge duh - 22-inch barrel (more barrel options to come) hopefully a 24" - Magazine capacity: 2.75-inch (7+1); 3-inch (6+1); note: there is no 3.5-inch option 22" and 7+1? WTH? - Picatinny rail mounted on receiver Yup, cuz we really need that... - Clamp on side of barrel for mounting lights, lasers and other accessories for the Mall Ninja stage... - Over-sized bolt handle, release button and safety Actually useful. - Two choke options: improved cylinder; ported "tactical" breacher choke Remchokes are cheap, pick up a LM and M, toss the tactical and breacher. - MSRP: $1,399 so a street price of about $1199
  6. I know, and really like, both guys. Both do an excellent job, as evidenced by their strong following here, and as you will see as this thread gets more responses. I've had Benny build me several 2011's, I use his comps on damn near all my rifles, and he did my M2. All are incredibly reliable. Mike has tuned up several M&P's for me, and I've seen a pile of his guns run like champs at matches from Georgia to Arizona. Pick one and go with it, you'll be fine.
  7. AA and Winlite only through my M2, knock on wood 100% to date. Light maintenance, decent lube, and spaghetti before the match. Iffy shells in practice, quality in matches whether they be local or majors.
  8. Look close at the "low profile" offerings from DPMS, Remington, Bushmaster, ect (i see them everyday in the shop)... They are ground down A2 fs/gb. Work just fine. that being said, if you go for an aftermarket unit, choose one that pinches together at the bottom, and not the one with mere set screws that insert from the 6 o'clock and press against the bottom of the barrel. The "pinch" has much more bearing surface with the barrel, more friction, and has a much, much lesser chance of walking under recoil or abuse than the other. 9. Steel, standard size. I've broken an standard one with a big latch on it, at MG nats. I'm not the most gentle soul with my guns, durability is a factor in my gun choices.
  10. delete. you know, I just dont wanna argue about it out here or in pm's.
  11. I soooooo do this all the frikkin time!!!
  12. last MG nats i attended, when i asked this question to some of the RO's, they told me it was to avoid a conflict of interest, them scoring you and you maybe being in the same class/division as them. funny, it seems to work just fine everywhere else. Robert: there's no wait list, you can still get in.
  13. ha, i read it aloud to my wife and her sister...
  14. I'd like to come shoot this one, but I'm looking to see if the stages are going to be real run-n-gun or frustration fests as were described last time...
  15. I've either used or borrowed a look through all you've mentioned, Swaro is still my pick.
  16. I'm not attending this match, but let me be the first to thank you for your generous donations to the prize table and to our sport, and I hope to see you at other matches in the season.
  17. i'm real partial to an 18" with a 0.700" to a 0.750" profile, and no flutes. i remember the sissy boys playing flutes in high school.
  18. what do you want to end up with? a bullet hose or a tight group puncher? why did you put out the coin for one of the beast barrels on the market?
  19. make a 9 hour drive, 4.5 each way, and a motel stay usually, to shoot Best of the West monthly 3 gun. no prize table. but its a good match, better than i can attend locally.
  20. Decided to run heavy metal irons at RM3G, shot exactly ONE local match with the equipment before it. scores tell the tale.
  21. Winchester Winlite and Federal Truball both shot damn near POA/POI from my M2, but Winlite feels like a softer shooter. Fiocchi low recoil is accurate, but 10" left and 15" low at 100yds and a similar reduced offset at 50yds (M2), but shoots accurately from my SX2 practical. Go figure. Remington manged recoil (and i know some of y'all love em) is barely minute of berm at 100yds from my guns. y'all got me curious about the b&p now...
  22. you might give some thought to the Burris XTR 1.5x6 30mm. the 1.5 on the low end is doable for up close, just takes bit of getting used to and the 6x on the top will assist you on the longer stuff, and the price isn't out of line. in fact you may find a used one on here every once in a while. Daytime visible illumination, stadia lines damn near match distances in 100yd increments out to 600 (as far as ive tried mine). im not on the "oh my God burris is the be all end all optic", but it is a pretty good choice in the price range and capability you mention.
  23. <-- nordic on a SX3 that I used in RM3G, no issues. 10+1 on a 26" VR.
