  1. I couldn't agree more. Thanks for saying that, jim
  2. i myself tried 9 major for a year and decided to move back to 38 SC. Reason, i don't have a guaranteed supply of good 9 mm brass that i would sort out the headstamps i wanted. Uniform headstamps guaranteed my gun functioned 99.9% The time spent sorting out brass was costly for me. Other problems seem to pop-up once in a while and in a big match, you just can't have those. Now, some of my shooting buddies are still shooting 9 major and are pretty successful with it. Personally, and this is a personal opinion, i am now more confident in my gun and ammo with the .38 SC than when i was in 9major. Going back to 38 SC may not solve all your problems, you will go back to buying SC brass and picking them up at matches/practice. In hindsight, I learned a lot from shooting 9 major and i have all respect for those who are shooting it with success.
  3. Here's a possible answer to your question: Microsoft IE changes the way plays plugins I use DW 8/CS3 and the way it works is it wraps it in a JS script. This makes it cross browser compatible. Another solution (simpler) is deconcept.com's but the site is down and i wasn't able to save his code. Let me know if you all need the DW code/files and i'll send it. Ok, here's what i googled from Adobe: SwfObject
  4. I tried to watch it last night but came to find out, Outdoor Channel has been moved from 049 to 115 (Comcast Houston) and 115 is now a premium channel. It said this channel is for premium subscribers only:angry2: Oh, well...
  5. I've attached an explanation below. IROA_Shooting_Order_Summarised_ex_NB.pdf I like this! On some of the matches i've shot this year, we employed a similar process. This, however, is more organized and gives me an idea on how to organize our next sectional match. Thanks for sharing this info!
  6. Landis, I had similar experience with it. When i was still loading to 9 mm Major Open, my EGW undersize die shaves the bottom part of the brass. My .38 SC (also in Open) does the same thing. My solution was changing my routine: 1. Deprime and resizie with Dillon die 2. Polish 3. Load 4. Polish 5. QC then Box.
  7. I put them on hold for about ten or so minutes and continue what i was doing before. Then check on them and see if they're still there and in a few seconds put them on hold again. Repeat the same process. Until they disappear.
  8. Visa requirement is another thing. Not all countries can come into the US with passport only, they may need to apply for visa too. Some consulates/embassies may not buy the idea that you are attending a pistol tournament in the US and deny you your visa...
  9. For me, it's mainly personal preference, 115gr has some characteristics that i like and dislike, and 124 gr, vice versa. I shoot outside of US and had been using 124 gr for a few years now. I need to try 121gr MGB and see it will fit my liking. Best way to find out is to try 115gr vs. 124gr yourself and make a pro/con list to help you decide. Cheers
  10. On the contrary, he is a soft spoken, cheerful guy. Very approachable. Never had that impression. People tend to misinterpret top shooters because of a single, brief encounters (worse, from hearsay) but that doesn't really paint an accurate picture. Wish he could come here often so we can demystify his persona.
  11. Local photo/video stores sell them by the can.
  12. Mine works, but i'm using Mac OS X 10.4, firefox 2.0, with QT 7.1.6
  13. I started shooting IPSC 8+ yrs ago and have not had a chance participating other shooting sports. I'm pretty busy enjoying IPSC and don't intend to join other sport-shooting or otherwise at this time, thank you.
  14. FYI, make sure your phone will have the same band as ecuador's. Tri-band phones usually will cover it but just make sure it does. When i went to guayaquil, I found it more convenient to get the rental/prepaid than tweaking my own cell. Same with the other shooters i'm with. Europe's power, mainly 220, but most of my chargers for my gadgets were auto voltage.
  15. We did that with the last WS in Guayaquil. Came in a week early and went sight seeing. You can contact t the MD/RD and ask if you can have your gun/ammo in storage while you go around town. They usually accomodate tourism.
  16. I converted my 9mm Major to .38 Super last January after a year of 'trying' 9major. I am one the the unsuccessful ones that can't get it run consistently and efficiently, though some of my friend do. - It's another topic... re-chambering cost me $75, if i'm not mistaken. I'm using .38 supercomp, and both XRe and Shred's right. If you go this route, you'll notice a pronounced bulging of your spent case. I have never had an extract problem nor case sep. problem. I intend to use the right caliber once this Trubor barrel's worn out but as far as saving money to rebarrel, i think i made the right move. Hope this helps.
  17. I feel your pain. As another lefty, i struggled in tuning my setup. I 'm back to a serendipity, using aftec, lowered my ejection angle and trained my left thumb not to point up too much to clear the exiting brass. In general, i'm very satisfied with the AFTEC. My previous smith was totally against it but i kept having extract probs. I bought and installed it in my blaster without mods and has been working eversince. Hope this helps!
  18. Seriously, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. Hope it heals soon for you to shoot the Nats.
  19. Lee D, stage 8 Staff, ROs Sqad 7 getting ready to shoot stage 1 Bill C and Steve D(Texas South Section Chief)
  20. Video of Travis Tomasie shooting stage 8(29 rounds). He shot this in (L-10)13.38 seconds/140points. Jimmy Reed 13.65 in seconds/144points (in Open).wheww! http://www.tagged.com/video_player.html?vi...mp;uid=93025984
  21. Jake, I ordered 2 weeks ago and no sign of a ups box yet. I called them last week, they said they're out of stock(.38 SC) but will be available this week. I guess i need to follow-up with them again.
  22. I've used it. Very clean burning, consistent and accurate powder. Not had any temp sensitivity problems... Can be expensive and hard to find though.
