I agree with Cha-Lee and racerba- the gun only cost $400. I would not shoot this pistol even if it were repaired.

I have had an 8MOA slide ride (and a RTS2) on my 38 super open STI pistols for years with no problems- the slide ride much longer. My advice would be to get one of these dot sights. Have shot a lot of large and small matches over the last 20+ years with the slide ride. It is sort of the industry standard. Lot of competitors are moving to the RTS2 since it is mounted lower on the pistol and more in line with the bore. I am not a fan of tilting the slide right to get it more in line with the bore.

Hornady dies for 6mm creedmoor works well for me. Lee carbide factory crimp die for 38/357 ammo used in a revolver.

My RPR 6mm creed is easier to transport when the stock is folded- heavy gun with bipod and 5-25 scope- it is bulky also.

I have used FP-10: apply it and let it soak in. Then chip out the debris or use a drill bit on an electric hand drill to gently remove the debris. When done apply a liberal coat of FP-10 which will help prevent the build up of debris at the next match.

gun is a winchester model 61 22 cal (s,l,lr) pump rifle made in 1950. Have been dripping kroil on the stock bolt and washer 2x/day for several days and tapping the bolt. Standing the trigger housing and stock up lengthwise so the kroil runs down the stock bolt. Maybe I have not been tapping it hard enough. Will increase my tap hit force. It is a persistent bolt.

How do you get a stock screw out when the gun is 50+ years old- it will not budge with a large screw driver or with a wrench attached to the handle of the screw driver for leverage? Think it is just rusty and "frozen". Cannot access any part of the screw from the receiver , only from the hole in the butt plate.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a competent gunsmith that works on Winchester model 61 22 cal pump rifles? Mine is acting up- when load magazine, it delivers many shells at once jamming. Installed a new cartridge cutoff. Then when mag is loaded cycles all shells except last one, which remains in chamber, and gun locks up- the trigger lock (bolt release) will not work to release the pump mechanism. Any suggestions to fix problem? Thanks for looking.

in general if you have the forcing cones lengthened it will help your pattern efficiency and reduce recoil. If you have the barrel threaded for choke tubes, this will allow you to shoot different shooting games with the same gun. Most important is gun fit-if it fits you will shoot it well- if not no.

Get the adjustable comb- if you need it you have it- if not, you have it anyway. As you get older you may gain weight and require an adjustable comb.

I have a 12ga MEC 9000GN that I have loaded thousands of trap and skeet shells on. Very efficient, cost effective, and easy. Suggest you get a roller handle from in line fabrication if you are going to load lots of shells- easier on the hand. You can add a hydraulic unit to this press and make it automatic for a reasonable cost. Before purchasing a press do a cost analysis per box of shells reloaded vs factory. Margins are decreasing between factory and reloads. However, I am still reloading 28 ga skeet for about $3/box (have lots of free once fired hulls) vs $12+/box factory shells. About the same for 20 ga skeet (have lots of free once fired hulls). Have been reloading 12ga for 40+ years for trap. Little less for skeet- still reload for 28 and 20ga skeet.

I use 6.4 gr HS-6 with 124 gr MGB or extreme or S&S lead bullet and WSP primer- no problems- pistol cycles ok- vortex venom on pistol

Most airlines allow you to take 11lbs (in ammo boxes) in your checked baggage. If your ammo weighs more, ship it by Fed-X or UPS to the match location. This is an easy issue to solve.

I have been loading 8 calibers on a 650 for years and never have had primer seating issues, as long as the machine is set up correctly. This includes two rifle calibers.

has anyone put this revolver to the test? How did it do with accuracy, functioning, durability? How did it do with both the 22lr and 22 WRM cylinders? Did the cylinders fit well, were they timed? what was the single and double action trigger pull from the factory? did you modify it? to what?

maybe you need to check the position of your tab that holds the case in station 2- it should just touch the case to prevent it from moving out of the shell plate and it also positions the case to seat the primer easily

I have a RCBS 5-0-5 that I have used for over 25 years to weigh powder from cowboy to 6mm creed loads- shotgun also. Scale has a leveler and a damper. Have a good weight set with plastic tipped tweezers (to handle the weights) that spans what I am weighing. Scale is right on the correct weight and has been for years. Believe the scales are under $100 and will last a lifetime. Do not know about the weight set

My Ruger 22/45 lite shoots WW Super-X 40gr, Federal 36 gr, WW M22, Remington golden bullet, CCI mini mag, and Remington thunderbolt without failing. Keep the gun clean.
