  1. Have used MG bullets (38 super, 9mm, 40S&W) for 20+ years. Have always found they are very consistent in weight as Sarge indicates.
  2. I have used a 8 MOA on my open gun for about 20 years- worked well for me. Like 6 MOA for red dot on CO pistol- vortex, DDP, RTS2 do fine for me. Can pick up the dot quickly. Like 8MOA on steel challenge 22 pistol.
  3. I have a gen 2 and it is really a nice gun. Have been using it in 3 gun matches for at least 3 years. Opened the loading port as much as could with SN where it is, lengthened the lifter, put an xs sight on the rear of the rib for slugs, installed a Nordic tube for 8 rounds, put on a kick off stock that goes on a Beretta 400, use a light mod choke- good for shot and slugs - POA is POI. It is a very fast and soft shooting gun. Easy loading, points well. Gun costs about $1000 originally plus mods. Much less than the cost of the currently offered one. You can use a barrel clamp if you want- not really needed.
  4. I have astigmatism and use my noline bifocals with C-More red dots- 8MOA- on 38 super open pistol and 9mm carbine- they work fine and the dot is fairly crisp. Also have same red dot on several Ruger MKIII pistols for bowling pins and steel challenge. As long as I wear my glasses the red dots work fine. Have other red dots- vortex 6 MOA and DPP 7.5 MOA and they are also fairly crisp. I think my glasses do the trick on the red dot. Discuss this with your optometrist or ophthalmologist.

try reading and practicing things from this book- Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World by J. Mark G. Williams- it will help you focus and you will become smoother- smoother is faster.

  7. what is your OAL with the 147 grain MG?
  8. take a look at a Swenson safety- shooters connection has them- maybe this would help you

    adj comb or not

Get the adjustable comb- there are different heights for trap, skeet and live birds- if the adjustable comb that comes with the gun does not work for you have a stock maker make adjustments for your personal fit. etc. An adjustable comb is worth the money if the stock fits you like a glove AND you can consistently hit the target.
  10. If your Benelli M2 does not shoot slugs to POA send it to Rose Action Sports to get it fixed. Steve fixed mine and it now shoots slugs to POA out to 100 yards. Problem was the magazine tube was off center several degrees when purchased new and when the barrel is put on the gun it "follows" the magazine tube alignment- my gun was shooting about 12 to 18 inches at 1 o'clock at 30 yards. Steve has a jig to "center" the mag tube in the reciver which will correct the problem. This will also correct the center of the shot pattern-i.e. POA and POI of the center of the shot pattern will coincide.
  11. want to purchase a firearm- look at Grab A Gun or Ky Gun Co- their prices are way better than Cabela's or Pro Bass not only for guns but for ammo also.
  12. shot a box of Remington factory 115gr ammo- shooting went fine with no jams- OAL was 1.05"- will load some shorter OAL ammo and try them
  13. sounds like you have a good plan. I have shot the ProAm numerous times at Rockcastle in KY and have used my blade tech- no problems encountered- however, did not crawl through a drain pipe.
  14. will try shorter reloads OAL 1.125" 124gr RN and also shoot a box of factory 124gr RN ammo. I suspect that it is the ammo.
  15. have not tried factory ammo yet. resetting the OAL to 1.125- originally it was about 1.166- which I have been told is too long
  16. Benny Hill suggested loading some 124 gr RN to OAL of 1.125 and trying them- if 100 rounds work w/o a jam the ammo is "ok". Will try this, this coming week. he suggested the reason the loaded round stuck in the chamber was due to a case bulge.
  17. got some good technical information from Michael boyd at springer precision regarding leade in the chamber and will try it today- will let you know if it helps-
  18. never crawled through a drain pipe with my blade tech at a 3 gun match- usually have been standing or kneeling during a match. sometimes use a safariland holster 015 for my open pistol with C-More which has a lock on it.
  19. never have had a problem with my blade teck holding my 9mm STI Eagle- gun has not come out of the holster during lots of different 3 gun stages-i.e.
  20. look at the FX-9 9mm carbine that uses glock mags- it is inexpensive and mine always has performed well- put a JP trigger in it and it works fine- has nevr failed to fire as long as I do my part in reloading the 147 grain ammo. this carbine is as good as the Ruger and about the same price.

    sr9

have not used my new SR9 in an IDPA match yet- recoil spring is stiff when it comes from the factory- will try it out double tapping in practice to find out if my second shot is low- installing a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight for faster aiming.
  22. thanks- I will check with him if I continue to have problems with my 9mm XDM.
  23. I use a Harris BRM mostly- have a Tiptop pivot pan as a backup. The Harris suits me fine and is ok for matches here in Evansville out to 525 yards. Ground is level for the most part for shooting and can move when prone for the pan. When I get more proficient might get a different bipod but Harris is it for now.
  24. did springfield recommend this loaded cartridge length for the xd and xdm? I have not been able to find out anything about this.
