Several months ago I had the misfortune of running a double charge through my Canik SFX. Fortunately, I came out unharmed but the gun did not do so well. The extractor and the slide lock were damaged but can be replaced. The frame took the brunt of the damage as you can see below. Is there any chance this can be repaired? I'd hate to scrap the whole gun.

So far I have shot matches at Harvard, Worcester and Pioneer. May look into IPSC and USPSA as well. It's all fun!! I was looking for gun that was competition ready or close to it when I found the Canik. I have shot Glocks and Smiths but really liked the feel of the Canik. Trigger out of the box was excellent. The springs out of the box are quite sturdy and needed a bit of work. I upgraded the recoil, striker, trigger bar and striker plunger springs plus I polished some of the internals. I also added a Freedomsmith trigger which made a huge difference on an already great trigger.

I use a 5.11 vest. I did make one modification. The left side pocket(actually 2 pockets) I assume are for mags. Not really good for Tac reloads. I brought it to a seamstress and had the two pockets sewn into one. Now it's nice and wide and works great.
