  1. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned what we do up in Canada. To be able to shoot IPSC, IDPA or ICORE we need to pass the Black Badge course. 3 whole days of shooting, and rule discussion (plus multiple choice exam) and passing exercises such as shooting around barricades, lying down, reloads, how to LAMR, el presidente etc. All under the watchful eye of the instructor. He doesn’t think you’re safe, no black badge -no fun. 2 DQ’s in 1 year -re do the bb course. Also you have to complete one match (with no dq) to pass, you have 1 year after finishing the class to do a match.
  2. Brings it down to powder valleys regular price and supposedly there will be free hazmat next week at pv.
  3. Using www.camelcamelcamel show's that it's gone $10 lower last year.
  4. I'm finally stocked up on everything they have to offer. Unless there is a Matrix like GM+ uplevel brain implant chip.....
  5. I'm sure most of us with 929's are crimping harder, I am. I do leave a ring in the coating but it hasn't affected accuracy. And I have zero bullet creep. Helps not to use the nickel plated brass either.
  6. I've switched to the Ibejheads 165gr 358's. Slightly cheaper than the Bayou's and they've sponsored a few ICORE matches we've been too. I like the coating better too. I did take advantage of the 50K+ 15% off, I have a mix of 9mm, 40 and .358s. What I didn't do properly was the math regarding total weight. Luckily for me I rented an SUV for the recent 16th East coast match. At 1300lbs total the 20 boxes would have killed my impreza. Should be set for a while!
  7. That’s Canadian $. DoubleTap is local, to me anyway.
  8. They better stock up on dust covers, there is a reason the first settlers called the nearby town Hurricane. Witching hour ~12:30pm and the wind starts ripping. I was just training so it was kinda fun, I was still kicking Utah out of my Solomon's months later!
  9. 8 hours for us as well with the border crossing and coffee stop.
  10. Dave Olhasso is going to announce the dates shortly for the 2019 IRC, in a day or so I believe. The 2019 USPSA Nationals made the current posted date untenable.
  11. Now that I'm shooting indoors again I'm raiding the brass bucket. newbies with new ammo, so sweet. The outdoor range I go to is the opposite, I've gotten lucky there too -occasionally. But at that range it's mostly competitive shooters, some high level too.
  12. We started drinking the homemade wine from the brew-ur-own places. $5 vs the $20 bottle stuff we were buying saved $$ fast. The liquor taxes up here are nuts.
  13. I use the FA media separator. The tumbler and bucket I use for sorting the finished rounds from my walnut/corn/wax mix. The lid/other half with the mesh I use to separate the pins from the brass. It helps to have a big bucket around too. I'll pour 1/5 of the brass pin mix into the mesh bin, rinse and dig around with the FA big magnet. Doesn't take long to get 99% of the pins. I might also dump the remainder in the bucket and use the magnet and dig around a bit to get more pins. I'll then dump some more from the bucket to the mesh bin, rinse and magnet then towel. Spinning the separator with the pins -no way. Once was enough with pins flying everywhere. The only issue is that pins do escape from the side of the mesh in the bin down to the drain. Well not that far, just stuck in the U joint. I need to find a skinny magnet on antenna -bolt recovery type tool. I got one on amazon but the magnet was a lot bigger than the pic suggested. It won't get past the X on the bottom of the laundry sink.
  14. I discovered the too deep primer issue too. Only after I had 2000 IRC rounds all ready to ship..groan...all unreliable . I was using my KW head seater by pushing the handle against a book using my body weight. Oops and since I only had a few days until our US trip planned I had to rush to make more and *hand* seat them all in 3days. I ended up with blood blisters.
  15. Are you gauging your rounds first? I'm no expert but I don't think the crimp is your problem.
  16. congrats to Michael for another .31 second win!!
  17. Look like it’s fixed. He’s in the running, just behind the usual (top shooting) suspects lol -according to the practiscore link above
  18. https://www.altamontco.com/pistol-grips/smith-and-wesson
  19. I don't. The way I see it it the first few throws are going to be light as the powder will settle with the rattle of the press. If I do have an empty tube I'll fill it up and tap to get the powder to settle just like it would after 10-20 pulls of the handle would. I use N320
  20. It was over 100f at Utah this September! Stay hydrated. And tell Ken to make sure the freezer stays stocked with ice cream, so disappointed when it was empty at the end of day 5 of the TPC boot camp lol
  21. Lol.... best to email and ask. I wanted 2 but they only had 1 showing online. Sure enough they had 2. Pretty sure I saw more on the shelf.
  22. I posted a Canadian website. $170cdn is around $140usd
  23. Nice, they get the weekend. For some reason I thought they shot with production... read that wrong. Do they change the setup for the limited shot counts? Re:8 shot Revos and limited 10
  24. I hope he’s ok, the pros are currently done day 1 of the nationals
