  1. Uniquetek Micrometer for the powder bar. Simply awesome. I've done all the others but this makes life so easy - #1 in my book. Someone needs to re-design the 3 brass case holders/pin so they don't keep getting sucked up by the vacuum. I hate digging around in the vacuum bag. yuk. You'd think I'd learn but noooo.
  2. I've been trying some of my regular 9mm reloads in tricked out S&W929's with lightened springs. I use Fiocchi non-toxic primers (+ N320) and 70 rounds in (split between 2 guns), not one has failed to go bang. Of course I have a large stash of Federals.... It will be nice not to have the lead exposure once I run through the Federals, revolvers get too dirty too fast! {edit} Emptying the moon-clips revealed the Fiocchi ones sparkled inside and out. The Federals were black + cruddy inside. However there were plated (Fio/Frontier)and coated (Fed/bayou) bullets used. I'll do a run where everything is the same but the primers.
  3. I have the Arredondo one, it works GREAT! I load 2.7g N320 for ICORE 9mm loads. I also added the mircometer all my other bars. It's one of the best upgrades I done to my 650. It's just so easy to dial in.
  4. Hmm I didn't find the PAL filler to work great with the Fiocchi non-tox primers. I was getting 2-3% upside down. Now I have to decide to sell it or not. I must have gotten one of the last ones made.
  5. I just cleaned a new batch yesterday. I used less brass. I store my sorted brass in 2lb protein containers and it's ~10lbs of 9mm. I first cleaned the batch with no pins, a bit of lemishine and dawn for 30mins in warm/hot water (I dump a boiling kettle full in). And all the water I use is out of a reverse osmosis system -overkill for sure. I then dry in a towel and take over to the 650 set up with a single lee decapping die and decap the whole bunch. Back to the tumbler with a kettle full plus a pot of boiling water. Added are lemishine, car wash'n'wax and stainless pins. 1hr later dump the lot in a Frankford media separator and rinsed. Dump on a towel, rubbed a bit and left to air dry. Worked like a charm. And you should see how black the water is from the dirty primer pockets!!!
  6. We were told by a Federal rep at SHOT that they are aware of the shortage and are ramping up production of SPP. We'll see I guess.
  7. We just got back from the range where we tried out our new tuned S&W 929’s, first batch of 160gr .358 Bayou chrono’d with brand new Labradar. 2.8gr N320 OAL 1.20 125-127 PF on both guns. Did not have time to test for accuracy as we ran out of range time.
  8. We bought these the other day after seeing someone wear one at an indoor match. Easy to take off when it's your turn to shoot. http://respro.com/pollution-masks We were in the first squad that day but half way through we didn't really help patch and reset, it got nasty back there. We have the 3m pink dust masks ones but they are a pain in the ass to take on and off. At the 2nd indoor match that day (different location) we stuck around to help tear down and on went the 3M masks. Guess who swept up?
  9. First is always worst. I need to slooow down, still new- lots to learn!
