  1. Have you maximized for accuracy the load you presently shoot from your gun? Plenty of accuracy can be gained by working on the load. Obviously easier to do if you reload but doable with factory ammo also. I am never against someone buying another gun but if you want better accuracy, work on optimizing your ammo. If you want a new gun, buy one. No excuses needed. Lol
  2. You can get 28rds .357sig in a big stick? Since .357 sig is .40 necked down, then in all reality you could get 28rds of .40 in same mag? WOW! so if you can get 28 in it, same mag should hold maybe 32rds 9mm. Whose mag & guts is it?
  3. Oops, I misread that & didnt see "2 ports" part. Please excuse my screwup.
  4. Redneck, just a side note but thats not a uspsa legal stage. You cant have a position that forces more than 8 shots to be fired from it. You can allow more than 8 but some of those targets should be available from other shooting positions. 30rds needs at least 4 positions be available..... Not criticizing, I am sure it was a fun stage & all but as for rules, that was outside a little even for a local level 1 match. Think of a single stack shooter with 8 rd mags....
  5. So you cant even see them until you hit 50 posts? I knew you had to be a member & logged in to see them....?
  6. I had more fun shooting the match this year than any previous year. Stages were awesome & my squad left me rolling on floor laughing. I especially enjoyed the limited walk thru time on stage 6. I didnt do very well but it was great fun. No rehearsed dance with every move memorized but instead use your wits, Head on a swivel, Brain turned on. Although its a match director nightmare, wish there were more stages like this. Is not practical though & is prone to people trying to cheat so I am not campaigning for a bunch more stages this way but I wish it could be that way.
  7. If your shell plate is too loose, primers wont fully seat also.
  8. Ive sanded all my OEM glock mags. 400 grit, 800 grit, 1200 grit all with a block of wood under paper to make sure I sand off high points. Then use a product to make plastic more slick. Never a problem & they are slick! Edit to add check top of mag after a bunch of use, the bullet side of top of mag will often get a burr. Glock armorer took his knife & trimmed it off first time I saw it so thats what Ive done when that happens. Looks bad but doesnt hurt anything.
  9. On my glocks, I also polish pretty much every moving part except mag release, slide & barrel. I also will polish feed ramps & get rid of the sharp edges on them. In my sti, I polished feed ramp. That was it.
  10. I only said that's what I do and gave the reasons why. You can recommend anything you want I really don't care
  11. Ive been shooting my sti in 40 with major power factor ammo for awhile now & although you give up capacity a little,(most my mags hold 20 & 1 21 all reloadable). Knockdown is very reliable as well as long shots. I have no doubt if I hit steel, its going down. My splits & transitions are as fast as any middle of road shooter with 9mm. Occasionally I wish for a 9mm sti for few more rounds & to save a few pennies on reloads.
  12. Oh by the way, the glock is an excellent value in my opinion.
  13. Im going to toss out some advice, take it or dont but whatever gun you choose should fit you & be reliable. Change sights if you want or other drop in parts but if you choose to really customize it, expect the resale value to at best stay the same or go down. Example... buy glock, decide you dont like grip so you send it off & have it stippled, maybe reshape trigger guard just the way you like it. Year later you want a new gun. Lets see, you paid $600 for gun, $200 grip work, added nifty trigger & sights. Most times you will take a loss on all your gunsmith work plus a deduction on basic gun used price. Your grip work fits you perfect. You love your trigger. None of these changes work for me. I pay you less because youve had all this custom work done to it. If I buy a used gun in most circumstances I will pay more for 1 thats had no permanent customization. Watch classifieds. You will see what I am saying.
  14. A-loading we will go, A-loading we will go.... hi ho the merrio, A-loading we will go. Been loading every evening. Bought a bunch of shotshells. Almost ready. See you all soon, not long now!
  15. Ive been using them for years. Occasionally you will find a gun they don't work well in, they lead up. Typically its a combination of the rifling and the powder and your loading technique. I suggest to buy a few and give them a good try and see what your results are.
  16. He was wanting to duplicate recoil for practice. Not load itself. Found it is neither the bullet weight or bullet speed that makes it "recoil" like factory rounds
  17. Well numbers make sense but Im not sure why to do that. Do you get an extra round in mag?
  18. Eye pro is critical & you will not be allowed to shoot at any organized pistol match without it for the main reason because your eyes do not grow back! Lose 1, its gone forever. Ive taken 3 solid hits to my glasses, any one of which would have done irrepairable damage to an eye. If your eyepro is not comfortable, try another brand. Please.
  19. At what point in your process are you trimming the length of the brass?
  20. Good match. We had a lot of fun but wondering when full results will be available?
  21. Yeah Ive always sprayed lube in a plastic bag then put brass in & shake around. Keeps from getting it inside the brass.
  22. It was very disconcerting I can tell you. I am fairly ocd about my ammo being right & this was not. You wont find anything with "one shot" on the label in my house. Lol. Dillon lube. No waiting, no issues.
  23. I lubed as many others do then loaded them. I had a high percentage of rounds that went off but were weak or soft. Obviously some type of contamination between the powder & the one shot. Blame is probably on me as I didnt wait a long period of time after lubing before loading. Best I remember I lubed, dumped them in case feeder, filled primer tube, checked powder & started loading. Would have been no big deal except I loaded maybe 1000 or 1200 in this session. I took them across the country to florida for a major match & also to another major match here in texas. Sure maybe I didnt wait long enough but why use something that you need to set a timer & wait before loading? Or maybe it was something else in the lube caused the problem. Either way it cost me several issues at critical times. Gun goes pop instead of bang. You stop shooting. It was maybe 20 or 25 rounds. Just enough to be scary. Fortunately every bullet cleared barrel but its hard to be comfortable continuing to shoot after pop. If you do a search, you will find plenty of others having same issue. Sure plenty of people have not had this issue & say its either user error or some other problem but I threw away my one shot, started using dillon & never had the problem again. Lube, (no waiting for "long enough") load, tumble off lube, shoot with confidence. No Pop.
  24. I tumble my loaded rounds for an hour usually. I use turtle wax in my media & they come out dry, clean, shiny & slick. No adverse effects that Ive experienced. Chrono results identical tumble or not. Edit to add I use dillon lube before resizing. Used to use one shot but had issues..... Never will use it again.
