  1. They all do great work, but the price most of them charge for grip work is crazy expensive. I can't justify spending $300-$400 for grip work for a gun that is going to be used for 3 gun matches and possibly being dropped into a bin or onto a table. That's why for the price and quality of work, both TTI and Zev are my main choices. On a side note I have chosen to the do the competition stipple job from TTI, I'll be sending in my G34 early next week.
  2. I haven't used the CCI's yet but I might have to once I run out of the Match AR's. I still have about 4k of them left so it might be a while. Yes the powder is temp sensitive it is part of Hodgdon's extreme powder line. It meters really well in my progressive press.
  3. Whats worked well for me is LC Brass, Federal AR Match Primers (if you can find them), Benchmark Powder and Hornady 62gr FMJBT bullets. It got me under 1 MOA at 100yrds. So far its been very good for me in practice and matches.
  4. That's the reason I have not switched yet, every time I think I want an IC I read another post just like yours and I say to myself "I do fine with a LM, why switch"

    Available (?) TSO

Damn that's nice a gun, wish I had the funds to spend on that. Someones going to be very happy.
  6. While I agree with several of the post's in this thread about the complete JP rifle being the gold standard, the best part about the AR is all of the different options one has to make the rifle his/her own. While I would love a complete JP rifle I would never buy one, for me it's about being able to pick and choose what I want in a rifle. I am way to make of a tinkerer to spend the money on a JP and want to change out parts. I think my current AR has had 3 different versions of it before I settled on what it currently is, just my 2 cents.
  7. That's an awesome receiver set, I had my eye on that for my next build. I think that I may go with the Vltor upper and just a basic lower. Good luck with the build.
  8. I run a LM right now but may switch out to an IC, most of the shooting I do at matches is about 15-17 yards. I'm hoping that I won't have to aim as hard with the IC.
  9. I picked up an ODIN Atlas and really like how easy it is to tune. It has a removable sleeve so cleaning is a bit easier, and it can be timed just by rotating the sleeve.
  10. I'm in the same boat right now, I will be sending in my G34 in to TTI next week and am still trying to figure out if i want a stipple job or SC. I had talon tape on my XD at one point and then pulled that off and stippled it. I like the feeling of both.
  11. I'm glad I came across this thread, I will be picking up my first glock this Sunday and this looks like it will a great product for me to practice my dry firing with. I picked up the dry fire target kit from Ben Stoeger. I'm really wanting to put more time into practice this winter.
  12. I purchased the the dsperman extra power springs it really does make the safety both harder to engage and disengage. I think those springs combined with the thinner safety would do the trick. http://www.dsperman.com/products/CZSpring/CZSpring.html
  13. Yes they have the other parts such as cam pins and firing pins. Also I use mine with a JP SCS system. Its works very well, I made sure to get and adjustable gas block so I can tune it properly. RCA also sells a bolt carrier with an adjustable gas key.
  14. I used to hate trimming then chamfer and deburing cases, to a point were I didn't reload any rifle for about 6-8 months. I then purchased a Giraud case trimmer and I can't say I love trimming cases now but it sure does make things a lot quicker. I was able to trim, chafer and deburr about 2k cases in about 6 hours over a 2 day period. Saved a ton of time and didn't kill my fingers as bad as the old way on the RCBS case prep center.
  15. I have ran stages that has required 20 or more pistol rounds, you need to also take into account misses and plan for that. I will usually run 3 fully loaded mags on my belt. 1 to start the stage with and then 2 extra just incase. I've had some really bad stages before and was glad I had that 3rd mag even though I should have never needed it in the first place. For low round count stages I will just usually run 2 mags total. I have no experience with a Benelli but if I were to do it over again I would either buy the Benelli or a Stoeger instead of the Mossberg 930 JM I currently have. Nothing against the 930 an inertia driven recoil system would have been nice.
  16. Yes it does have the forward assist serrations. On top of being an incredibly light bolt the customer service at Rubber City Armory is awesome. I had an issue with the bolt face and they took the bolt back and replaced a few parts and returned it promptly and with parts that didn't need to be replaced. I would highly recommend the bolt to anyone looking for one.
  17. If I need to use a glove then I use one only on my week hand. I just use a set I bought from Home Depot for about $15, they do a good job and then I just put on the other glove when I help reset steel.
  18. Awesome gun, the TS is on my wish list. Just need to stop spending all my funds on other guns and maybe I could afford it. Enjoy it
  19. I am looking to purchase this holster for a G34 for 3 gunning, just wondering if anyone here has experience with it and what is your overall feeling about it. I plan on using it with a Invictus holster hanger and a Safariland QLS mounted to my belt. Any info would be great. Thanks
  20. I would call Jayson at LOK and talk to him about what you want, he is always willing to make custom grips. I had him make a set of thin bogies for a CZ75 with a magwell. He sent out test grips to ensure the proper fit before he made the final cuts and offered them for sale.
  21. That Combat Master is so nice, I just can't see spending 1k or more on a pistol that only cost $600
  22. +1 on the LOK grips, Jayson is really easy to work with and usually can get custom colored G10 material.
  23. When I was wet tumbling I would make sure I rinsed out the cases as I pulled them from the tumbler. This would get the pins out of any cases that may have had any left in them. Very rarely would I have a pin stuck in a flash hole. If I did I would make sure to keep a dental pick close by to push the pin out of the flash hole. I know it was probably not the fastest method but it worked and I always knew that I had all the pins out of the cases.
  24. I went with a Vortex PST 1-4. I started with a Strike Eagle but really wasn't all that impressed with it. It had trouble holding zero and I didn't care for the reticle that much. As far as the PST goes I really like it. The glass is better and clearer than the Strike Eagle and so far with many times being dumped in a dump bin it has yet to lose zero. I can't recommend the PST enough.
  25. +1 on the Midway bag, I picked up one a few months ago and so far so good. I've always had good luck with rifles cases from Midway.
