  1. My Para has whipped STI's, and SV's. I suggest you buy a Para or RIA and practice.
  2. I haven't seen or heard of these yet, but I want one!!
  3. I had a g35 that I built into an open gun. Besides having to make a reload when others didn't, I never saw the .40 as a problem. I would prefer to have a slightly lower magazine capacity and be scored major than shoot a minor plastic gun in open. I don't like plastic for major.
  4. Maybe your slide stop is dropping before the mag is fully inserted. I would seat mags a little softer, and press the slide stop to drop the slide.

    Mag well attachments

They don't pinch your finger. They do speed up reloads. The light ZEV indeed didn't seem to help recoil at all.
  6. I lucked into the accuracy, but the reliability, like all ammo, comes from consistency.
  7. Hull: AA Primer: whatever I have at hand. Crimp: fold I've got 4" groups at 50 with a bad rest, and bead sight.
  8. If they're good, yes. If they happen to suck less than the next guy, no.
  9. Rock River NM 2 stage or CMC
  10. The rifle is the most versatile gun we use, so why limit it to close shots? I like going from targets off the end of the barrel to 500 yards with a rifle in the same stage.
  11. I like points, but instead of each stage being worth 100 points, I think stages should be scored according to the required number of rounds. For instance: in a USPSA match, a 100 point stage requires twenty rounds, and a 160 point stage requires 32 rounds. Basically, I think the stage should be worth the number of required rounds times five points per required round.
  12. Saw WWB go 164PF out of a G22 at Area 4. He was shooting Production, luckily. OP, If you like production, keep what you have. If you want to shoot limited, buy a 2011 in .40.
  13. I have been loading my own slugs for awhile and have had great luck, so I thought I'd share. I cast a 7/8 Lee slug from the same alloy that I make pistol billets. This slug is then loaded in a WAA12 wad over 18.5 grains of Titewad. The result is a very accurate, cheap, low recoiling slug. My cost is about 25 cents a shell.
  14. Watch the people that win at your match. Do what they do.
  15. I would contact Burris and see what they will do for you.
  16. If you're on a budget, RIA makes a double stack for under $1000. Also, a used Para can be had cheap.
  17. The VP9 has the mag drop on the bottom of the trigger guard, like the walther.
  18. If mags are the only concern, just buy a mag catch for use with STI mags. I have several Canadian mags that run 100%, and I have no complaints with my old Canadian 16-40.
  19. I never had any trouble with the Taylor Freelance.
  20. I built a G35 into an Open gun and never saw the longer barrel as a disadvantage. The slide weighs the same as the 4", so that shouldn't be an issue. Also, the longer barrel should yield greater velocity.
