The AR seems to be about the most well rounded platform, and therefore the go-to/best one for 3gun.

I can load .223 for 20 cents a round or buy steel case for 24 cents a round. I'm tired of loading it.

I shot a 180 cast bullet over 3.2grn of titegroup for minor.

Look for a used Carver mount. No frame modification required.

As has been said, a trigger is a MUST. The CMC trigger is pretty good. I like the JP and SJC Titan brakes the best.

I could load factory mags in my zev magwell, but a +2 basepad made it much easier.

I put 12,000 of my hard cast lead bullets through my G35 with no issue. I cleaned the barrel about as much as any--pulled a bore snake through it every 2000 rounds or so.

Buy a Zev V4 connector and competition spring kit, but use the factory striker spring.

"3Gun" does not have "Production". I also don't think 2011s are legal in Revolver or SS in USPSA. Glock makes a great production gun, and a decent pistol for Limited. I put a whole lotta rounds through a G35 in Limited, Production, and a brief stint in Open, as well as my go-to 3 gun pistol. After switching to a 2011, I'll never look back at a Glock for anything other than Production. I know plenty of people run them in Limited and 3 gun, but for Limited, a .40 2011 is tops.

Pretty much. If you're shooting Limited, .40 is what you're going to want.

I like my A2.

I mostly use p mags and metal mags with anti tilt followers. The metal mags go into and come out of the rifle easier.

I shoot the same load out of my 16-40 as I did my G35. 180grn LTC at 1.13 Make the switch. The 1911/2011 platform is much better for the game, and easier to shoot. The Para has never cost me anything in a match.
