  1. I love the infinity. Trying to decide for my current 5.4" SS build as well. Old stolen pic
  2. On my list of to dos is to build a personal single stack gun. I always include the SV magwell in my comparisons. I think it looks the best.
  3. My limited and open guns are all set at about 2 lbs. You all have me thinking I should try a touch lighter......
  4. This one? I dont like it.... At least I need to try to convince myself of that ? I dig the red accents on both guns.
  5. This thing is too much. Dang he does good work. Im feeling inspired. I need a new open gun now, ugh.
  6. Was just thinking the anodizing might be good to protect the aluminum. Not sure if you'll be running majors loads or not but they will probably cut into it pretty quick. Dont you need a second home hobby with some home anodizing;). You're great at the machining part. That would be easy in comparison.
  7. This is super cool. Been thinking for years about getting a mill to do this kind of work. What the of aluminum did you use for the comp and will you be anodizing it?
  8. I really enjoy Nikon products. I have a few monarchs that have been fantastic and a pro stuff rimfire target that I love. Always a great value for the money. This looks to be along the same lines. Only prob if mounting on a pistol though is that 3 moa dot. A little small for my taste on a handgun. I might have to try one for an extra ar red dot.
  9. Sorry. Should have clarified. That is the 147 load. (Screenshot) I think I was running about 8.3 with 124s when I was shooting open.have to see if I can find my old notes from a few years back.
  10. Vihtavhouri has a std pressure 9mm load for 3n38(6.9) that gets you to major easily. Not as much gas to work your comp as the lighter bullets though
  11. Speedshooter carries sti frames without "the kit" that are priced reasonably. Good way to go if you have a grip already or if you want to get a metal one.
  12. Any comments on shooting with the metal grips in the cold? Or very hot for that matter. We get both extremes in UT....
  13. Anybody have any non-sti experiences to share?
  14. Zoomy, was your crack near or touching the cuts or was it around the chamber? Do you have a picture?
  15. What mount is this on the RTS, looks very cool with all the holes? This is the sv mount. Pricey but beautiful. I think I'm getting this mount for my build.
  16. Wondering if there are those out there that have an understanding of slide warranties between the different brands. I am posting this in the Open section as it seems like slides on open guns are correct fairly often, and this could be a living resource to those putting new guns or top ends together, From my limited understanding STI will warranty a cracked slide as long as it has not been cut to under 10 ounces and the cus are not what caused the crack. Can anyone confirm this? Also what are the warranties on CK arms, Caspian, etc? Will they cover the slides under the same circumstances? Finally are there ways, besides logos, that a manufacturer can identify their own slide for warranty work. Thanks all!! Edit: If you have a slide that has cracked. Please tell us where the crack was and if it was deemed by the manufacturer to be the result of slide lightening and therefore not warrantied. Pictures are great if anyone has those to accompany their posts.
  17. I have medium size hands and agree with some others posting that I like the feel of the standard magwell pushing my hand up. This gives me more of a "locked" feel and helps me to index the gun in my right hand the same way every time I draw and grip it.
  18. Has anyone tried an rmr? Maybe the rm07 with the adjustable led dot? I have a brand new rts2 chilling in the box for my next build, but this thread has me second guessing that purchase.
  19. Subscribe to their email list. They have sales all the time ranging from additional 25-40% off. Great deals.
  20. As you have both side by side, can you give a synopsis of how the feel varies sizewise between the two grips? Visually the steel grip looks larger but everyone seems to say its more comfortable. No one around me has one for me to try it out, also trying to decide between plastic or steel. Thanks!
  21. Sure will. you either have to file on the trigger or the grip to make it work though. Its pretty simple just go slow either way.
  22. Let us know how it feels when you shoot it. I've never tried a comp like that.
  23. That open gun used to mine. Sold it to a shooter in Idaho. It was not built by Idaho Customs. The slide stop appeared to be a one off custom with the rest and plate welded to a standard slide release.
