  1. It really isn't that expensive. At PV $107.xx for 4#. Promo is $103.00. I have seen a lot more 320 available lately. Can't find Promo.
  2. Dry. Corncob with a little rapid polish. Don't care enough to wet tumble
  3. I am RH-RE dominant. Keep both eyes open. Vision is 20/20 after Lasik. Occasionally, I will get a double image of my front sight. This typically occurs on longer targets. I also notice it during dryfire if I get right up against a white wall. I can correct it by briefly closing my left eye. Is there any downside to a piece translucent Scotch tape or a little Chap-stick on my left lens?
  4. I would add 2 things to the list of equipment: A good light to illuminate the shellplate--I like the one from Inline Fabrication that fits in the center hole of my 550B I have a cheap flexible inspection mirror from Harbor Freight rigged to the strong mount that allows me to see inside the case before I seat each bullet
  5. Are these easy to swap out? Are you using light loads for IDPA? Incredibly easy to swap out. Just like taking out a slide stop and putting a new one in. I shoot minor power factor loads for IDPA and steel, major for USPSA
  6. I have an STI Eagle chambered in 40. I use it for both IDPA and USPSA. To deal with the magazine issue and slide lock reloads, I have two slides stops. One is set to not lock back for USPSA. the other stock slide stop is used for IDPA.
  7. I have checked the USPSA site. The only match that I shot that had a classifier was my first match. Didn't have a USPSA number at the time so no score listed. All other matches have been without classifiers. My GPA is 0.0.
  8. I have been shooting USPSA for about 6 months now. I have shot a grand total of 1 classifier stage. Not that I really care if I am a D vs. C but I would like to assess my progress. For now, I have been comparing my scores to a local GM. I am at about 55% of his points. Do clubs typically run classifiers at each monthly match? Should I forget about this and just try to dominate the U's
  9. I was at a local match yesterday and met a guy with an Infinity during the walk-through. He generously let me handle the gun and I think coral is a great description. I really liked the feel of the aggressive micropockets. One comment he made was that he wished he had more aggressive serrations on the front of the slide. I think he had either 3 or 5 Xcelerators. Any thoughts on FCS as well as slide profile? Is it more than just cosmetic?
  10. Let me preface this by saying that I have no affiliation with any bullet company. I actually found out about ACME from this forum. If you want to buy 2500 .40 180 grain bullets: Extreme= 264.0 Bayou 238.00 Acme 229.30 Blue Bullets 230.00 (2550 rds) BBI 225.00 P.S. you can get Acme 9mm 147 gr for 6.96 cents/rd with the discount
  11. I agree with this. The price differential is really minimal and in my case, I have had a major tumbling problem with extreme plated bullets. Probably just a combination of my load in my gun but I am not going to take the chance with them again. Plus, the ladies like the red bullets !
  12. I have gone through about 1500 of .40 180 gr and I am very pleased with the quality/accuracy. Very competitive pricing with the forum discount. Will definitely order again
  13. I have the Redding G-Rx (carbide version). I can not comment on the LBB. I have it set up on a Hornady single stage press with the Redding bottle attachment. I check all match ammo with a "Hundo" case gauge and was having 3-4% fail. With the G-Rx, almost nothing fails, less than 1 in 500.
  14. I shoot both USPSA and IDPA. If forced to choose only one, I would pick the former. However, any trigger time and competing with friends is fun IMHO.
  15. I just shot a match and got my butt kicked on a stage with multiple swingers. This has been a weak spot for me that I am going to fix. I would prefer not to have to buy a $300.00+ swinging target. Anyone have plans for a good swinger that I can use for live fire? I need it to be simple. No welding or serious metallurgy. Thanks
  16. 3.0g Titegroup under a 147 gr Bayou @1.140". SA 1911 with 5" barrel. No chrono data but it is soft and accurate. I prefer it to 2.7g loaded at 1.080" I have also loaded 3.4 g of TG with a 147 gr Montana Gold FMJ.
  17. I agree with you and the SO: 5.1.2 Only one (1) PE is assessed for each type of infraction in a string of fire. If the shooter commits more than one type of infraction, such as using the wrong specified hand and firing an incorrect number of shots, a separate PE is assessed for each type of infraction.... This was one type of infraction, therefore 1 PE
  18. I shoot with the TR 22s in bright Florida sunshine. They are plenty dark. I have numerous Oakley lenses and although the light transmission is greater on the Prizms than say a +Red Iridium, I have never wished for a darker lens. My only gripe is that they are not vented and shooting in high humidity/heat has lead to some fogging issues. resolved with anti-fog spray. Do the Prizms make me a better shooter--doubt it.
  19. I toss all 9mm WMA brass. Can't easily prime them on my 550
  20. Thanks for the information. When I put in my deposit, I will definitely ask for some grips to test. Does the aggressive grip really draw blood? I am fairly calloused from skater tape on my STI
  21. Balakay

    Pin walking out

Try a light coating of clear nail polish on the pin
  22. As I approach the "back nine" of life, I would love to treat myself to an Infinity. Any way to fondle the different grips? I have yet to see one in the wild although I come across an occasional PT build. I would hate to make a mistake on size or texture on what could be my last gun purchase ever (or at least that is what my wife will be told)
