  1. Most commercially available lasers are pretty darn small so, if it were me, I would just leave it and activate the laser on a stage you want it, keep it off if you don't, but you could definitely mount on a quick detach if you wanted to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. A laser definitely wouldn't be an option for an alternative for a red dot in this game but can definitely be a supplement to your normal sight in a few situations that have been outlined. With the restrictions on how powerful a laser you can sell to the public in the US, it would be very difficult to make something with a high enough output to be able to use in really bright daylight on targets out to some of the distances we shoot in this sport. 3. If this were reliable and available for CZ's I would buy one just for the benefit of training the single action in dry fire. It doesn't provide the same feedback as firing a live shot so I don't think it could completely do away with livefire practice, at least in its current form. It'll be interesting to see where things go with this type of technology, I could see a lot of uspsa shooters using something like this for training if you can ditch the laser. 4. Grips I've done I paint on the JB weld then fill a container with silicon carbide so I can press the grip into it without getting pressure points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Not that I'm an expert on their products but I believe all of the Rock Island single stacks in .40 have bull barrels so no go for SS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm going to throw in a vote for a standard 75B. You're not going to be shooting sports that have a 125 power factor floor so the added weight of the frame isn't necessarily needed to soak up recoil. The gun will swing better for steel challenge and will cost a bit less. The triggers can be made pretty nice using CGW parts and some polishing. If you like the decocker on your SP01 Tactical you could go with the 75BD, a little more work to take them apart but can still be done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I used the VZ golf ball style grips for a while and they were good but I did a silicon carbide grip job on a old set of diamond pattern grips, also from VZ, and I don't think it gets any grippier than this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. If Dan Wesson rolled out a .40 in the PM line again I think I would have to free up some money for one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Too bad it has no mass, moving at the speed of light, it wouldn't take much to make power factor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Also, just because you can build a laser all the way to 5mW doesn't mean they can all be made up to that limit. Very compact lasers (less space for batteries) usually are not as high of output as larger rail mounted lasers. If you were adding a laser to a handgun the compact size is something you can trade off for some brightness but with a rifle you have much more space to work with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I work for a laser sight manufacturer, some of the issue is there are restrictions on the maximum output of laser you can sell to the general public, under 5mW. In really bright daylight they can be difficult to see, going with a green laser helps because the human eye sees the color green better than any other color in the light spectrum. I could see a laser helping in some of the awkward positions you might get into while shooting a rifle in a pistol match, leaning out to the support hand side of kneeling and shooting come to mind. Pretty much any position which makes it difficult to look through your red dot you could use a laser to supplement. I'm not trying to push my employer here because I have a pretty obvious bias but if you guys have any questions on laser for this kind of thing, feel free to ask. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Art, I heard the bad news, sorry to hear that. I've heard nothing but the best things about Dave so I'm glad you guys got a chance to chat. There will be other majors! -Kevin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    P320 X5 Thread

I was also told there should be 2,500 ready to go when they release so shouldn't be a problem getting it production legal when it rolls out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Resurrecting this thread. The gun now has a 9lb recoil spring and is still having troubles. The ejector was definitely modified back in the day so I think a new sear cage is in order. Anyone know where he might be able to pick one up? EAA has them but they're kind of on the pricey side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I agree, it was designed to be a "fighting pistol", I trust the Army did testing to it to determine if it would suite their needs as a fighting pistol and am just curious as to why they were dropped from the test so early on. That's all. Not crapping on S&W, I competed with a M&P for a while and actually kind of liked it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. My understanding is this is basically the model used in the XM17 competition. S&W did not make it very far in that competition so I would be kind of curious to hear why and to know if issues seen during those tests were addressed before releasing to the public. 17. Those will have to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I just wish they made a set of red and clear lenses for the durangos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This just makes sense to me to see some of these shooters shooting CO. Sig, Glock and Smith all have optics ready models they are trying to sell, these shooters are sponsored by these companies. "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday." kind of thing.
  20. I have a 32" waist and the Ghost mag pouches work for me. I run 5 of them in production division and the 5th mag is just shy of the small of my back. I like them, they're inexpensive and have a good amount of adjustment.
  21. I went with the PCR, basically the P01 without a rail and I absolutely love it. The decocker is nice for carry as your first shot is from half cock though does make complete disassembly a bit more complicated, though this is not usually something I would do often on a gun I carry a lot and probably don't shoot a ton. I don't have any experience with omega trigger CZ's but this has been the perfect carry gun for me to compliment the Shadow I compete with all of the time.
  22. I recently picked up a CZ PCR for a carry gun so even at a local I will always have a half way decent back up gun should I ever need it. And it was pretty damn inexpensive. Won't be as nice as my accu-shadow, but until I have the money laying around for a back up shadow, this fills 2 roles really nicely with just new sights and a little tweaking, for a bargain.
  23. Looks like a no go on it counting for a classifier, unless USPSA hasn't had time to review yet. Would be nice for it to count for me as well, and Cody, I'm sure you wouldn't mind a 100% going in the books.
